We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by Singles Travel International. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays. Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate.

Transportation between the airport and our Miami hotel is not included. Miami is serviced by the Miami International Airport (MIA). From there, you have a couple of transfer options:

If you’d like a transfer to the Miami airport (MIA) at the end of the cruise from the ship, your Tour Concierge will be able to help you book one directly with the cruise line once you’re on board.

In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as land/cruise only. Therefore, airfare is additional. Singles Travel International is a licensed ticketing agency and oftentimes has low negotiated fares.

Virgin includes “essential drinks,” including water (still and sparkling, of course), non-pressed juice, soda, sachet tea and drip coffee.  To learn more about how bar drinks work on Virgin Voyages, please see the FAQ called, “Why doesn’t Virgin Voyages have a drink package?”  WiFi, entertainment experiences, all restaurant dining, tips and group fitness classes too!

You are responsible for airfare, airport transfers in Miami, shore excursions, casino gambling, shopping and gratuities to your Singles Travel International Concierge ($15 per day recommended).

Cabin incidentals such as laundry, room service and phone calls are at an additional cost and all items will appear on your final billing statement at the end of the cruise. You may also be charged a delivery fee, imposed by our vendors for special delivery of documents including international and expedited documents.

While Virgin Voyages does not offer a traditional unlimited drink package, the cruise line does have a bar tab system that works quite well.

All individual drinks are charged to a sailor’s account via a scan of their wristband. Sailors pre-load money onto their account, or they will be charged the tab at the end of the sailing.

Most alcoholic drinks range from $7-$13 USD each, and there are several free drink options available, see below.

Virgin Voyages’ drink prices are reasonable compared to prices in the US.

  • Beer: $6-8
  • Basic cocktail (ie gin and tonic): $9-10
  • Regular cocktail (ie pina colada): $9-13
  • Special cocktail: $13+
  • Glass of wine: $8-15+
  • Bottle of wine: $30-100+
  • Shot: $9-125 (varies greatly)
  • Coffee (latte, cappuccino, flat white, etc): $3-4
  • Chai latte and matcha latte: $5-6
  • Cold brew: $3-6
  • Tea: $5
  • Red Bull / Nonalcoholic beer: $5

In addition to the paid drinks, there are several free drink options on Virgin Voyages cruises, including still and sparkling water, non-pressed juices, sodas, sachet teas, and drip coffee.

There are also a few occasions on the cruise when you can get other drinks for free, including free champagne on the first night and special promotion events.

For instance, there are select free cocktails and mocktails from 4-5 pm at a few bars on board as part of a promotion.

How do you pay for a drink on board?

Paying for drinks on Virgin Voyages cruises is simple. You’ll receive a wristband when you board the cruise. The band can be used to open your cabin door, pay for drinks, and make other purchases on board. If you want to buy a beverage on board, the crew will scan your wristband and it will charge directly to your account.

What is “Shake for Champagne”?

If you shake your phone three times with the Virgin Voyages app open, a crew member will bring champagne directly to your location.

Can you pay your bar tab for drinks at Virgin Voyages’ Beach Club at Bimini?

Absolutely! Your bar tab works at the Bimini Beach Club. Simply pay with your wristband, the same as you would on the ship.

What is included in the Mega RockStar Bar Tab?

If you stay in the Mega RockStar Quarters, you get a special bar tab.

The tab includes up to $25 in credit for drinks each day (per cabin) and two bottles of wine per cabin, per day. In addition, MegaRock Star sailors get 25% off drinks priced above $25 and 25% off bottles priced above $90.

Can you bring your own alcohol on board?

You can bring two bottles of wine on any Virgin Voyages cruise. Other than the two wine bottles, you cannot bring any food or drinks on board.

Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every cruise sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. In 32 years, we have perfected the singles cruise experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day.

From the moment you arrive at the pre cruise hotel, our Singles Travel International Concierge is waiting to meet you at our Hospitality Desk or Welcome Event.

Payment for Shore Things will be due at the time of booking.

There are lots of activities from which to choose. Enjoy looking over the options, and share your ideas with your fellow cruisers on our Private All Singles Chat for BOOKED members ONLY.

Yes, there are hairdryers in each cabin. All of the cabins and suites onboard the Valiant Lady have both North American standard 110 volt AC and European standard 220 volt AC outlets.

Virgin Voyages doesn’t prescribe to large-scale dining rooms and buffets. Our group dinners will be served in rotating fashion among the full-service restaurants on board. The Singles Travel International group dining reservations for dinner each evening begin at 7:30-8:00 p.m.

Singles Travel International also hosts our Breakfast Club™ each morning; your Singles Travel International Concierge will advise you where it will be via the Singles Travel International Program you receive at the Welcome Meeting.

The average daytime temperature for Key West, Florida, and Bimini, Bahamas, in March is in the high 70s, with lows averaging in the high 60s. As rain is prevalent (although for short periods) in this area, it’s best to bring an umbrella.

There is no baggage limit onboard the ship.

Currently, most airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing 50 pounds each, for a fee. In addition, you may typically carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage.

Virgin Voyages is different than any other cruise line you’ve met before. Their dress code? “We encourage you to wear more than a bathing suit if you go to a restaurant and to kindly consider shoes, but your style is your style. Who are we to judge?”

Dress Up. Dress Down. Just Dress.

Be sure to prepare for Scarlet Night & Pyjama Party

Scarlet Night is the most iconic event on board any Virgin Voyages cruise. The crew encourages sailors to wear something red, though it’s not required. During our recent sailing on board the Valiant Lady, we did see some sailors not wearing red, and it could be that they didn’t know about it. We want you to be prepared. You are invited to wear anything from floor-length vibrant crimson dresses to simple red T-shirts. The diversity of attire makes it feel like you could really wear anything you wanted without feeling out-of-place.

The Virgin Voyages Pyjama Party, which typically happens on the first night, is another event where a certain attire is encouraged. Of course, pyjamas are not required, but they do make it a little more fun!

A fair warning about the Pajama Party: it usually happens late on the first night of the cruise. If you buy pajamas special for the cruise, make sure they’re pajamas you’ll want to wear in the future, just in case you sleep through the party!  Hey, we’re 50+, sometimes it happens.

Our Concierge Team will create 1 theme night, and costumes are recommended, although optional. More information about the theme will be disclosed closer to departure via our chat and direct emails from our Concierge Team.

Packing Tips: Take only what you need; don’t overpack. Save room for souvenirs and purchases. Pack flat and full to avoid wrinkling. Bring wardrobe basics; mix and match around one or two colors. Don’t pack anything valuable, fragile or perishable. Label your luggage with an outside tag, and place an identification card inside each suitcase.

Essential Items: We highly recommend that you bring the following items.

– A good, comfortable pair of broken-in walking shoes.
– A pair of shoes for restaurants (loafers, sandals, etc).
– Ladies will want to bring a warm wrap and gentlemen a nicer jacket, for evening wear. Evenings aboard the ship are sometimes cool due to the air conditioning, so a cover up is essential if you tend to get cold easily.
– Sunglasses, sun block, sun hat or visor. Sun is much stronger in Caribbean than at home.
– Insulated Coffee-To-Go cup for more java to enjoy poolside.
– Toiletries: all your daily essentials.
– Power strip for all your gadgets – most cabins have only one outlet.
– Prescription medications: sufficient supply for the entire trip plus legible written prescription in case of loss. Keep medications in their original, labeled container. Always pack your medications in your carry-on bag!
– Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution. You may want to bring along a written prescription for your eyewear in case of loss.
– Over the counter medications: cold remedy, aspirin/pain reliever, antacid/stomach upset remedy, Band-Aids, Neosporin or other anti-bacterial medication.
– Travel alarm clock with illuminated face, especially for guests in an inside cabin.
– Travel journal/notepad and reading material.
– Home address book (iphone/smart phone) for sending postcards. A useful tip to avoid bringing your entire address book is to pre-write names and addresses of people to whom you want to send postcards on sheets of self-adhesive labels. It saves time and space in your luggage.
– Small, basic sewing kit with a few extra buttons. Remember to pack scissors in your checked bag!
– Photography Equipment: Bring a sufficient supply of film and extra batteries. If you are bringing a digital camera, you should bring extra memory chips.

Travel Insurance is not mandatory, but, based on our 32- year experience assisting singles in need, we highly recommend it. In addition to direct access immediately upon completing your purchase, you will receive a quote from Travel Guard regarding travel insurance after reserving your vacation.

When selecting a travel insurance policy, we recommend that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency evacuation and repatriation. We also strongly recommend that the policy cover personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.

If you have any questions, Travel Guard professional, expert agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call us, if you have not received your quote within 3 days, or CLICK HERE to go directly to Travel Guard and request a policy quote. It only takes a few minutes.

Meet Your STI Concierge

Vicki

Hi! My name is Vicki, and I am so happy to have joined the STI family as a Concierge! After having a career as a health-and-fitness writer and then having children, I decided to make a career change in order to pursue my love for travel. For 9 years now, I have designed small-group tours all over Europe and have led tours in Italy, Malta and Croatia. From the moment I began leading tours, being able to share wonderful experiences and make people smile through discovering a new location - or perhaps through discovering something about themselves - I felt as if I had found exactly what I was meant to do! I look forward to making your vacation dreams come true.

What Our Members Are Saying

A cruise to Alaska has always been on my top ten list. This August, my trip on the NCL Bliss with so many STI friends was the best possible way to enjoy the scenery and the company.  There were many options to explore Alaska from speed boating through the fjords to whale watching to learning about crabs and then feasting on them with friends. If you are hesitant to take a group trip – don’t be. On NCL cruises, STI offers many options from finding you a good roommate to setting you up in a single-occupancy studio (a great choice!).  Sharing meals with new friends is a lot of fun and getting to know them one-on-one is a great way to make new lifelong friends and travel companions. The trip was a lot of fun. Chicago is very big and interesting. The highlight of the trip had to be our STI Concierge, Mary Delia. She is amazing as a travel guide and should have her own travel TV show. She entertained us and kept us on track for the entire weekend. Everything was outstanding and everyone seemed content.
