When you’re planning your activities, think on your feet. Do what the locals do: walk and take public transportation. Whatever you choose, you are in the company of other like minded single travelers.
Note that our program was designed with the minimal amount of bus time to save you money. Therefore, when not on tour, we will use public transportation or HOHO, plus it’s so much more fun! We hope you understand.
Day 1 – Friday – August 30
Welcome Dinner/Boat Tour
STI Members arrive at the John F. Kennedy International Airport and transportation from the airport to the hotel is on your own (refer to the FAQ tab). Check into the Residence Inn Manhattan/ Times Square (after 4 p.m.). If you arrive early, the hotel will store your bags and you are free to explore the city on your own. Check in with your STI Concierge at the hotel this afternoon, meet your fellow travelers, sign up for tours and get oriented on your first day in the Big Apple. This evening we’ll get together for an optional drink before dinner, then head over to North River Lobster Company for a dinner cruise around Manhattan. Meet and mingle with new friends as we enjoy a delicious dinner surrounded by some of New York’s best sites! After dinner, stay onboard and enjoy the full bar and beautiful sunset over the water or hop off to explore NYC’s exciting nightlife!
Day 2 – Saturday – August 31
City Tour and Optional Afternoon 9/11 Memorial Tour
Breakfast is at leisure at our hotel before our city tour.
After breakfast, the group will hop on the double decker tour bus to start our narrated tour around the city! The complete tour lasts around 3 hours but you are free to hop on and off wherever you like. Whether you want to visit the Empire State Building, SOHO, Little Italy, Times Square or do some shopping on Fifth Avenue; there are multiple buses that come and go from each stop every few minutes. Your HOHO pass works for 48 hours of travel between 50 stops around the city.
OPTIONAL EXCURSION :
9/11 Memorial and Ground Zero Walking tour w/ One World Observatory Entrance (2 PM, about 3 hours duration, $59)
Gain insight in to the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center with a 1.5 hour walking tour with a local guide. We will hear stories about the event and the aftermath as we explore Ground Zero and the National Memorial. The tour begin’s outside of St. Paul’s Chapel, New York’s oldest standing church, served as a meeting place for loved ones to gather and pray as they awaited news about friends and family. Today, personal memorabilia and photographs still hang inside the church. Next, our guide will walk us to the Fireman’s Memorial and of course, Ground Zero, where the Twin Towers once stood. Now, in their place, are Twin Reflecting Pools and surrounding panels with all of the names of the fallen victims from that day we will never forget. After the guided portion of our tour is over, we will use our included tickets to skip the line and head straight to the One World Observatory. A Sky Pod Elevator will take us up 100 floors where we will get a spectacular view of the city through panoramic windows and step on to a Sky Portal in the floor that showcases city streets below in Live HD. The 101st floor features a bar, cafe and fine dining where you are free to stay for as long as you would like to take advantage of the 360 degree views of New York City.
Tonight, dinner is on our own in this fabulous city, known for it’s delicious eats. There are so many mouth watering options, it may be difficult to choose!
Day 3 – Sunday – September 1
At Leisure with Optional Morning Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Tour
Farewell Dinner at Carmine’s
Meet new friends for breakfast in the hotel before heading out to continue exploring the city. The day is at your leisure to take full advantage of your hop on hop off bus pass. If you have had your fill of the Downtown area, hop on either the Uptown or Brooklyn routes to see what can be discovered in those neighborhoods. Uptown route includes stops near Central Park, Lincoln Center, Theater District, American Museum of Natural History, Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Apollo Theatre and Harlem neighborhoods, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim and other famous cultural attractions on Museum Mile. From the Brooklyn Route, you can enjoy wonderful views of the Manhattan skyline and Brooklyn Bridge from, historic, Fulton Ferry Landing. There are also stops at great cultural institutions including: the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Brooklyn Museum of Art and Botanic Garden. You will see Brooklyn Promenade/Cadman Plaza, Atlantic Avenue, Barclays Centre, Brooklyn Public Library, Grand Army Plaza, Old Fulton Landing and Fort Green Park. Between the different routes and 50 stops, there is something for everyone to see and enjoy even if you choose to just stay on the bus to enjoy the full narration and take it all in!
OPTIONAL EXCURSION :
Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Tour (8:30 AM, 4 hour duration, $49)
When we think of The Big Apple, we picture the iconic Statue of Liberty, making it a major Bucket List item! Thousands of people visit the site each day which is why our early Reserve Line Access, to board the ferry is a must. We will meet our guide at the southern tip of Manhattan, at Castle Clinton, and board together. We will learn all about the history of our Lady Liberty and how perceptions of her have changed over the years. Once we arrive on Liberty Island, we will head in to the pedestal of the statue and up to the observation decks. Here, we will admire the breathtaking views of the New York Skyline, Ellis Island and even New Jersey. After taking in the sights, we will hop back on the ferry to Ellis Island, as we learn about the history of the millions of immigrants to pass through between 1892-1954. Upon the island, we will explore the exhibitions and wander the Great Hall, with our guide, to really get a feel for the 12 million people who once traveled through. You may also learn how to trace your ancestry! Spend as much time as you would like before taking the ferry back to Manhattan.
Tonight, we will say farewell to The Big Apple, and new friends, with a family style Italian dinner at one of New York’s most famous restaurants. Carmine’s has the perfect NYC feel, while the restaurant aims to make the experience “Like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma’s.” Mingle with the group and make plans together for your next adventure with STI!
Day 4 – Monday – September 2
Check out and Transfer to Airport
Enjoy breakfast at leisure before checking out of our hotel. Super shuttles are available for your transport back to the airport (on own). We hope you enjoyed your fabulous stay in New York!

The tour begins in New York at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019 and ends at noon in New York on Monday, September 2, 2019. Therefore the trip is 3 nights/4 days.
A deposit is due at time of reservation and will automatically be charged to your card. If you make a reservation after May 2, 2019; full, non-refundable payment will be automatically charged at time of reservation and penalties will apply.
Yes. All cancellations must be made in writing to Singles Travel International and are subject to per person penalties as follows:
After deposit and at anytime of cancellation, a minimum charge of $175.00 plus credit card charges will apply in addition to other penalties listed below.
Between May 2 and June 1, 2019 – $200 penalty applies.
Between June 2 and July 1, 2019 – $300 penalty applies.
After July 2, 2019 – 100% penalty applies.
Note that if you elect to take a roommate and he/she cancels after our cut off date, we will do everything to find a new match. However, if no match is found, the difference in cost for a single cabin/room is the responsibility of the guest who cancels. No refund will be given to the guest who cancels, regardless of cruise or tour company policy as stated above. Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by STI. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays. Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate without paying an equivalent fee to the rest of the group that made the reservation with STI. Your credit card on file will automatically be charged.
Yes! Singles Travel International is the only singles vacation company that features a travel community where members may send messages to one another at any time. Once you make a reservation, you are invited to post messages on the trip chat which is great for finding out more about your fellow travel companions, coordinating taxi shares, setting up tours and more. Your trip chat is accessible from the trip page. Ask your STI Reservation Therapist for assistance.
In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as land only. Therefore, airfare is additional. Singles Travel International is a licensed ticketing agency and oftentimes has low negotiated fares.
To make the most of your weekend, we recommend that you arrive by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30 and depart after 12 noon on Monday, September 2, 2019. Note that New York is served by the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The least expensive transportation is the Airport Shuttle New York. The shared cost is approximately $22 each way/$44 round-trip (subject to increase before final payment is made). Taxis are available outside each terminal and rates are approximately $50-$70 each way per car. Post a message on the chat and find another member to share a ride.
Our tour does not include airfare, transfers, lunch and 1 dinner. You are responsible for alcoholic beverages (except when included in STI events), incidentals such as laundry and phone calls, plus gratuities to STI staff ($10-$15 per day) and local guides.
Absolutely. Our site is so popular that we guarantee to find a roommate for you or the single room is on us! In order to take advantage of our offer, you must be paid in full by May 2, 2019. We may still be able to match you after this date, call us for options. Of course, single accommodations are available at an additional rate.
Optional pre and post cruise/tour stays are not eligible for the guarantee. Chances are excellent that we’ll find you a match, but if no match found by 30 days prior to departure, member pays the single supplement.
Please contact your preferred carrier directly to make your reservation. If Singles Travel International issues a promotional economy fare, granting of frequent flyer credit is entirely at the airline’s discretion. If the flights are eligible, to ensure you earn frequent flyer credit from the airline, give your frequent flyer account number when you check in for your flights. In addition, save your boarding passes and the passenger receipt from your airline ticket. You may need to submit these to the airline (not to Singles Travel International) to claim any credit allowed.

Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every trip sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. In 23 years, we have perfected the singles vacation experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day. From the moment you join our tour, our heroes, the STI Travel Concierge team is waiting to meet you. Our first day begins with a get together and the camaraderie builds as we go along.
As a travel club, matchmaking is not our focus. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee ratios or ages. Our vacations are specifically designed for Baby Boomers and active travelers with an average age range of 50-70. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. Ages listed on our page are not restricted. They are simply used as a guideline.
We recommend that you meet the members of the STI Community online where you may view and interact with members via “Who’s Going” on every trip page. This is the best way to find out exactly who will be on your vacation.
We encourage our members to complete their personal profiles including a photo. Knowing who’s on the trip in advance makes socializing before and during your vacation easier and more fun.
Gorgeous! You may expect sunny days with daytime temperatures to be in the low to mid 80s. Evening temperatures are generally in the high 60s. Rain is always possible, so come prepared with rain gear and a jacket for evenings.
There is no baggage limit at the hotel.
Currently, most airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing 40 pounds, for a fee. In addition you may carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage.
Remember to bring comfortable shoes and a jacket for evenings. Casual attire is acceptable throughout the weekend. However, you may want to bring something dressy for our welcome dinner at Carmine’s.
Packing Tips: Take only what you need; don’t over pack. Save room for souvenirs and purchases. Pack flat and full to avoid wrinkling. Bring wardrobe basics; mix and match around one or two colors. Don’t pack anything valuable, fragile or perishable. Label your luggage with an outside tag, and place an identification card inside each suitcase.
Essential Items: We highly recommend that you bring the following items.
– A great attitude and an open mind.
– A good, comfortable pair of broken-in walking shoes.
– A pair of shoes for restaurants (loafers, sandals, etc).
– Collapsible umbrella and/or lightweight raingear.
– Ladies may wish to bring an evening wrap and gentlemen a nicer jacket for evening wear if planning a gourmet dinner.
– Sunglasses, sun block, sun hat or visor.
– Toiletries: all your daily essentials.
– Prescription medications: sufficient supply for the entire trip plus legible written prescription in case of loss. Keep
medications in their original, labeled container. Always pack your medications in your carry-on bag!
– Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution. You may want to bring along a written prescription for your eyewear in case of
– Over the counter medications: cold remedy, aspirin/pain reliever, antacid/stomach upset remedy, Band-Aids, anti-bacterial medication.
– Travel alarm clock with illuminated face.
– Small, Swiss Army type utility knife. Remember to pack this in your checked luggage!
– Travel journal/notepad and reading material.
– Home address book (iphone, blackberry) for sending postcards. A useful tip to avoid bringing your entire address book is to pre-write names and addresses of people to whom you want to send postcards on sheets of self-adhesive labels. It saves time and space in your luggage.
– Small, basic sewing kit with a few extra buttons. Remember to pack scissors in your checked bag!
– Photography Equipment: Bring a sufficient supply of batteries.
