Itinerary

Tour Begins in New York on November 24, 2021
Tour Ends in New York on November 28, 2021

When you’re planning your activities, think on your feet. Do what the locals do: walk and take public transportation. Whatever you choose, you are in the company of other like-minded single travelers.

Note that our program was designed with the minimal amount of bus time to save you money. Therefore, when not on tour, we will use public transportation or the Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus – it’s so much more fun! We hope you understand.

Day 1 – Wednesday – November 24

Singles Travel International Members arrive at the John F. Kennedy International Airport; transportation from the airport to the hotel is on your own (refer to the FAQ tab). Check into The Pod/ Times Square (after 3 p.m.). At this time, the hotel is not offering luggage storage.

Check in with your Singles Travel International Concierge at the hotel this afternoon, meet your fellow travelers, sign up for tours and get oriented on your first day in the Big Apple. This evening we’ll get together for an optional drink before dinner, then head out a slice of quintessential New York-style “za” in the Square (or whatever else tickles your fancy!). Meet and mingle with new friends as we enjoy and explore NYC’s exciting nightlife!

Day 2 – Thursday– November 25 – Happy Thanksgiving! (D)

We’ll start our day bright and early to get great viewing spots for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! Those who want to grab a bagel on the go with your Concierge can set out around 6:00 am from our hotel to secure front row! The Parade goes until Noon, after which we’ll have a free afternoon to enjoy the city at leisure. We’ll reconvene in the evening for a pull-all-the-punches family-style Thanksgiving Dinner at Carmine’s! Carmine’s has the perfect NYC feel, while the restaurant aims to make the experience “Like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma’s.” Our dinner will include a salad, a choice from many pasta dishes, a traditional Thanksgiving “feast” with all the trimmings, and a choice of dessert! Good thing we’re in the city, where we can walk off all we’ve eaten!

Day 3 – Friday, November 26

Hop-on-Hop-Off Bus & Optional Afternoon 9/11 Memorial Tour (2 pm) & Optional Comedy Show at Gotham Comedy Club (10 pm)

Set out for an optional diner-style breakfast with your Concierge before beginning your day! After breakfast, the group will hop on the double decker tour bus to start our narrated tour around the city! The complete tour on the Downtown line lasts about 2.5 hours, but you are free to hop on and off wherever you like. Buses run continuously from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm. Whether you want to visit the Empire State Building, SOHO, Little Italy, One World Trade Center or do some shopping on Fifth Avenue; there are multiple buses that come and go from each stop every few minutes. Your HOHO pass works for 48 hours of travel on two lines: the “Downtown” line as well as the “Uptown & Harlem” line.

OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS:

9/11 Memorial and Ground Zero Walking tour with 9/11 Museum Skip-the-Line Entrance (1:45 PM, about 3 hours duration, $49)

Gain insight into the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center with a 1.5 hour walking tour with a local guide. We will hear stories about the event and the aftermath as we explore Ground Zero and the National Memorial. The tour begins outside of St. Paul’s Chapel, New York’s oldest standing church, served as a meeting place for loved ones to gather and pray as they awaited news about friends and family. Today, personal memorabilia and photographs still hang inside the church. Next, our guide will walk us to the Fireman’s Memorial and of course, Ground Zero, where the Twin Towers once stood. Now, in their place, are Twin Reflecting Pools and surrounding panels with all of the names of the fallen victims from that day we will never forget. After the guided portion of our tour is over, we will use our included tickets to skip the line and head straight to the 9/11 Museum, where you can stay as long as your like.

Gotham Comedy Club Comedy Show ($

Dinner is on our own tonight in this fabulous city, known for its delicious eats. There are so many mouth-watering options, it may be difficult to choose! After dinner, we have an Optional outing to the Gotham Comedy Club – where Jerry Seinfeld, Marlon Wayans and other well-known comedians have tried their jokes! Nothing like ending the day with a good belly laugh!

Day 4 – Saturday, November 27
Day at Leisure; Farewell Dinner

Meet new friends for breakfast before heading out to continue exploring the city. The day is at your leisure to take full advantage of your hop-on-hop-off bus pass. If you have had your fill of the Downtown area, hop on the Uptown & Harlem loop to see what can be discovered in those neighborhoods, or use your pass to take a Statue of Liberty Cruise, included in your pass (departs from Pier 36). The Uptown route includes stops near Central Park, Lincoln Center, Theater District, and Harlem neighborhoods, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim and other famous cultural attractions on Museum Mile.

Tonight, we will say farewell to The Big Apple and new friends with a 4-course dinner at one of New York’s most famous restaurants, Patsy’s. Mingle with our group and make plans for your next adventure together with Singles Travel International!

Day 5 – Sunday, November 28

Check out and Transfer to Airport

Enjoy breakfast at leisure with your Concierge and the group before checking out of our hotel. We hope you enjoyed your fabulous stay in New York!

Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by Singles Travel International. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays. Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate.

Yes! Singles Travel International is the only singles vacation company that features a travel community where members may send messages to one another at any time. Once you make a reservation, you are invited to post messages on the trip chat, which is great for finding out more about your fellow travel companions, coordinating taxi shares, setting up tours and more. Your trip chat is accessible from the trip page. Ask your Singles Travel International Reservation Guide for assistance.

Our program includes live online connections with your travel companions before you depart and RSVP for each event is available on our sister community www.SingleLife.Today.  Be sure to register today so that you don’t miss out on anything!

In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as land only. Therefore, airfare is additional. Singles Travel International is a licensed ticketing agency and oftentimes has low negotiated fares.

To make the most of your weekend, we recommend that you arrive by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, and depart any time on Sunday, November 28. Note that New York is served by the John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The least expensive transportation is the public transportation. JFK Airport is well-connected to the NYC Public Transportation Network. To get to Manhattan, you will need to take the Howard Beach AirTrain from the airport to those stations ($7.75) on the A Line (subway fare is $2.75).

Taxis are available outside each terminal and

  • Taxis at JFK Airport charge a flat fare of $52 for trips between the airport and Manhattan. Taxis impose a $4.50 surcharge during peak hours (4-8 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays), for a fare of $56.50.
  • $1.25 PANYNJ per-trip Airport Access Fee will apply for pick-ups only.

Post a message on the chat and find another member to share a ride.

Our tour does not include airfare, transfers, breakfasts (4), lunches (4) and (2) dinners. You are responsible for alcoholic beverages (except when included in Singles Travel International events), incidentals such as laundry and phone calls, plus gratuities to your Singles Travel International Concierge ($15 per day) and local guides.

Please contact your preferred carrier directly to make your reservation. If Singles Travel International issues a promotional economy fare, granting of frequent flyer credit is entirely at the airline’s discretion. If the flights are eligible, to ensure you earn frequent flyer credit from the airline, give your frequent flyer account number when you check in for your flights. In addition, save your boarding passes and the passenger receipt from your airline ticket. You may need to submit these to the airline (not to Singles Travel International) to claim any credit allowed.

The Pod Times Square places us right in the heart of New York City! If you’ve ever cruised with Singles Travel International, you might have stayed in a “studio suite”; well the Queen rooms at The Pod are reminiscent of those: You have everything you need in about 120 sq.ft! Queen bed, free Wifi, hairdryer, flat-screen TV, AC and work desk & chair.

From this prime location, it’s easy to pop over to the Empire State Building, Central Park, Javits Center and Bryant Park.

Plus, your Singles Travel International Concierge  will be on hand to take care of your every need. It’s not only what we do, it’s who we are!

Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every cruise sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. In 28 years, we have perfected the singles cruise experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day.

From the moment you arrive at the hotel, our Singles Travel International Concierge is waiting to meet you at our Hospitality Desk or Welcome Event.

Our “Baby Boomer” vacations cater to singles in their 50s and 60s but you will often meet singles ranging anywhere from 45-75. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. As a travel club, matchmaking is not our focus. Ages listed on our page are not restricted. They are simply used as a guideline. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee ratios or ages.

We recommend that you meet the members of the Singles Travel International Community online where you may view and interact with members via “Who’s Going” on every trip page. This is the best way to find out exactly who will be on your vacation.

We also invite you to join our 50+ singles community when you are not on the road, before and after your vacation @ www.SingleLife.Today.  Membership is free and when you upgrade to Premium, you’ll save $1000s of dollars on Your Own Space™.

Historically, daytime temperatures in late November hover in the low 50s; evening temperatures are generally in the high 30s to low 40s. Rain is always possible, so come prepared with rain gear and a jacket for evenings.

There is no baggage limit at the hotel.

Currently, most airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing up to 50 pounds, for a fee. In addition you may carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage.

Remember to bring comfortable shoes and a jacket for evenings. Casual attire is acceptable throughout the daytime. However, you may want to bring something dressier for our Thanksgiving dinner and if you plan on hitting a show on Broadway!

Packing Tips: Take only what you need; don’t over pack. A river cruise is casual. Save room for souvenirs and purchases. Pack flat and full to avoid wrinkling. Bring wardrobe basics; mix and match around one or two colors. Don’t pack anything valuable, fragile or perishable. Label your luggage with an outside tag, and place an identification card inside each suitcase.

We highly recommend that you bring the following items.

– A smile and an open minded attitude

– Light Jacket (wind-and rainproof outer shell)

– A good, comfortable pair of broken-in walking shoes

– A pair of shoes for restaurants, evenings on the town

– Collapsible umbrella and/or lightweight raingear.

– Sunglasses

– Toiletries: all your daily essentials.

– Prescription medications: sufficient supply for the entire trip plus legible written prescription in case of loss. Keep medications in their original, labeled container. Always pack your medications in your carry-on bag!

– Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution. You may want to bring along a written prescription for your eyewear in case of loss.

– Over the counter medications: cold remedy, aspirin/pain reliever, antacid/stomach upset remedy, Band-Aids, money or other anti-bacterial medication.

– Travel alarm clock with illuminated face, especially for guests in an inside cabin.

– Travel journal/notepad and reading material.

– Small, basic sewing kit with a few extra buttons. Remember to pack scissors in your checked bag!

– Photography Equipment.

Travel Insurance is not mandatory, but, based on our experience, we highly recommend it. In addition to direct access immediately upon completing your purchase, you will receive a quote from Travel Guard regarding travel insurance after reserving your vacation.

When selecting a travel insurance policy, we recommend that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency evacuation and repatriation. We also strongly recommend that the policy cover personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.

If you have any questions, Travel Guard professional, expert agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call us, if you have not received your quote within 3 days, or CLICK HERE to go directly to Travel Guard and request a policy quote. It only takes a few minutes.

Questions and comments after you have reserved your vacation are addressed promptly when you send a message to us at service@singlestravelintl.com.

Your “Final Vacation Details & Meetup Information” including transportation and how to meet up with the group will be available on the YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS button on the left navigation bar on the trip site 21 days prior to trip start date.

Questions and comments after you have reserved your vacation are addressed promptly when you send a message to us at service@singlestravelintl.com.

What Our Members Are Saying

I just came back from a fantastic Mediterranean vacation aboard the Norwegian Epic. STI was fantastic from the office staff to our cruise hostesses June and Georgia. I look forward to traveling with STI again in the future!

The Epic Med cruise was fantastic. It was my first trip to Europe and was a nice taste of Spain, Italy and France. The day I saw there was a cruise without a single supplement was when I signed up. Nice group and made lots of new friends. Thanks STI!
