Tour Ends in Scottsdale November 15, 2020

Day 1 – Thursday – November 12

Welcome Dinner

Arrive at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and transfer, on your own, to our hotel.

Once settled in your room, take a walk around the resort property and get familiar with all of the amenities before we depart for dinner. Veneto Trattoria offers authentic Italian fare in a traditional trattoria setting.

After enjoying a delicious 3-course meal, venture out and explore the vibrant nightlife! The area is packed full of sports bars, country western bars, dance clubs, and live music!

Day 2 – Friday – November 13

Tour of Scottsdale and Phoenix

Enjoy a hot breakfast at the hotel before we depart on a half-day tour through Scottsdale and Phoenix. Together, we will see downtown Phoenix, the time-honored Arizona capitol building, Old Town Scottsdale and the historic Biltmore architecture as we tour the Valley of the Sun. Check out the surrounding sights of famous architecture and modern art set against the stunning desert views of the Sonoran.

After our tour, the rest of the day/night is ours to enjoy at leisure. Choose to add-on our Optional Evening Food tour and taste your way through Scottsdale or join new friends for another fabulous night on the town.

Day 3 – Saturday– November 14

Free Day and Farewell Dinner

After breakfast at our hotel, it’s time to head out and wander Scottsdale at our own pace. Today, we offer our highly recommended, Optional Full Day Tour to Sedona, Jerome and Montezuma’s Castle! Sit back, relax and enjoy our scenic ride, through the high plateaus, to Montezuma Castle National Monument. The well-preserved dwellings, built in to the side of a cliff, were used by the Sinagua people between approximately 1100 and 1425 AD. Next, we take the short ride to Sedona for Gorgeous red rock sightseeing and shopping, before wrapping up the day in the historic mining community of Jerome.

For those who want to stick around the area, there is plenty to see and do! Our more adventurous members should conquer the hiking trail to the top of Camelback Mountain. We must warn: this hike is not for the beginner, but the views from the top are breath-taking — Don’t forget your camera! Looking for more of a relaxed experience? Take a soak in one of the pools or a walk on one of the trails, at the resort, or hop on the shuttle in to town for some lunch and shopping.

However we choose to spend our free day, just be sure to be back in time to get ready for dinner at Citizen Public house, one of the most popular restaurants in Scottsdale and known for the delicious original chopped salad. Say farewell to new friends and sunny Arizona with a night cap at a local bar before heading back to the resort.

Day 4 – Sunday – November 15

Check out and Transfer to Airport

This morning we will have our final breakfast in Scottsdale before we check out and transfer, on our own, to the airport.

Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by STI. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays. Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate without paying an equivalent fee to the rest of the group that made the reservation with STI. Your credit card on file will automatically be charged.

Yes! Singles Travel International is the only singles vacation company that features a travel community where members may send messages to one another at any time. Once you make a reservation, you are invited to post messages on the trip chat which is great for finding out more about your fellow travel companions, coordinating taxi shares, setting up tours and more. Your trip chat is accessible from the trip page. Ask your STI Reservation Therapist for assistance.

In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as land only. Therefore, airfare is additional. Singles Travel International is a licensed ticketing agency and oftentimes has low negotiated fares.

To make the most of your weekend, we recommend that you arrive at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12 and depart after 12 noon on Sunday, November 15, 2020. Note that Scottsdale is served by the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

The least expensive transportation is the Sky Harbor Airport Shuttle. The shared cost is approximately $21 each way (subject to increase). Taxis are available outside each terminal and rates are approximately $30-$35 each way per car. Post a message on the chat and find another member to share a ride.

Our tour does not include airfare, transfers, lunch and 1 dinner. You are responsible for alcoholic beverages (except when included in STI events), incidentals such as laundry and phone calls, plus gratuities to STI staff ($15 per day) and local guides.

Absolutely. Our site is so popular that we guarantee to find a roommate for you or the single room is on us! In order to take advantage of our offer, you must be paid in full by July 15, 2020. We may still be able to match you after this date, call us for options. Of course, single accommodations are available at an additional rate.

Optional pre and post cruise/tour stays are not eligible for the guarantee. Chances are excellent that we’ll find you a match, but if no match found by 30 days prior to departure, member pays the single supplement.

Please contact your preferred carrier directly to make your reservation. If Singles Travel International issues a promotional economy fare, granting of frequent flyer credit is entirely at the airline’s discretion. If the flights are eligible, to ensure you earn frequent flyer credit from the airline, give your frequent flyer account number when you check in for your flights. In addition, save your boarding passes and the passenger receipt from your airline ticket. You may need to submit these to the airline (not to Singles Travel International) to claim any credit allowed.

The Scottsdale Plaza Resort sits on 40 lush acres of palm trees, elegant Spanish Mission-inspired architecture, fragrant gardens filled with desert flowers and stunning views of Camelback and Mummy Mountain. The resort offers five pools, a full-service salon and day spa, pool bar, lounge, dining, tennis courts and walking trails.

Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every trip sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. In 26 years, we have perfected the singles vacation experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day. From the moment you join our tour, our heroes, the STI Travel Concierge team is waiting to meet you. Our first day begins with a get together and the camaraderie builds as we go along.

As a travel club, matchmaking is not our focus. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee ratios or ages. Our vacations are specifically designed for Baby Boomers and active travelers with an average age range of 50-70. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. Ages listed on our page are not restricted. They are simply used as a guideline.

We recommend that you meet the members of the STI Community online where you may view and interact with members via “Who’s Going” on every trip page. This is the best way to find out exactly who will be on your vacation.

We encourage our members to complete their personal profiles including a photo. Knowing who’s on the trip in advance makes socializing before and during your vacation easier and more fun.

Gorgeous! You may expect sunny days with daytime temperatures to be in the low to mid 70s. Evening temperatures are generally in the mid 50s.

There is no baggage limit at the hotel.

Currently, most airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing 40 pounds, for a fee. In addition you may carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage.

Remember to bring comfortable shoes and a jacket for evenings. Casual attire is acceptable throughout the weekend. However, you may want to bring something dressy for dinner on the 1st and last night.

Packing Tips: Take only what you need; don’t over pack. Save room for souvenirs and purchases. Pack flat and full to avoid wrinkling. Bring wardrobe basics; mix and match around one or two colors. Don’t pack anything valuable, fragile or perishable. Label your luggage with an outside tag, and place an identification card inside each suitcase.

Essential Items: We highly recommend that you bring the following items.

– A great attitude and an open mind.
– A good, comfortable pair of broken-in walking shoes.
– A pair of shoes for restaurants (loafers, sandals, etc).
– Collapsible umbrella and/or lightweight raingear.
– Ladies may wish to bring an evening wrap and gentlemen a nicer jacket for evening wear if planning a gourmet dinner.
– Sunglasses, sun block, sun hat or visor.
– Toiletries: all your daily essentials.
– Prescription medications: sufficient supply for the entire trip plus legible written prescription in case of loss. Keep medications in their original, labeled container. Always pack your medications in your carry-on bag!
– Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution. You may want to bring along a written prescription for your eyewear in case of loss.
– Over the counter medications: cold remedy, aspirin/pain reliever, antacid/stomach upset remedy, Band-Aids, anti-bacterial medication.
– Travel alarm clock with illuminated face.
– Small, Swiss Army type utility knife. Remember to pack this in your checked luggage!
– Travel journal/notepad and reading material.
– Home address book (iphone, blackberry) for sending postcards. A useful tip to avoid bringing your entire address book is to pre-write names and addresses of people to whom you want to send postcards on sheets of self-adhesive labels. It saves time and space in your luggage.
– Small, basic sewing kit with a few extra buttons. Remember to pack scissors in your checked bag!
– Photography Equipment: Bring a sufficient supply of batteries.

Meet Your STI Concierge

Vicki

Hi! My name is Vicki, and I am so happy to have joined the STI family as a Concierge! After having a career as a health-and-fitness writer and then having children, I decided to make a career change in order to pursue my love for travel. For 9 years now, I have designed small-group tours all over Europe and have led tours in Italy, Malta and Croatia. From the moment I began leading tours, being able to share wonderful experiences and make people smile through discovering a new location - or perhaps through discovering something about themselves - I felt as if I had found exactly what I was meant to do! I look forward to making your vacation dreams come true.

What Our Members Are Saying

I just came back from a fantastic Mediterranean vacation aboard the Norwegian Epic. STI was fantastic from the office staff to our cruise hostesses June and Georgia. I look forward to traveling with STI again in the future!

The Epic Med cruise was fantastic. It was my first trip to Europe and was a nice taste of Spain, Italy and France. The day I saw there was a cruise without a single supplement was when I signed up. Nice group and made lots of new friends. Thanks STI!
