STI members have the opportunity to see both races. Our cruise includes a day in Monaco on May 26, the day for Grand Prix Trials. We recommend that you purchase a ticket for Grandstand K in Bureau de Tabac for great viewing of the race and Monte Carlo, without breaking the bank! Tickets are 77.50 including service fee.

    GRANDSTAND K – Thursday – GP Trials
Overlooked directly by the biggest tribune at the Monaco GP, Tabac corner is a 155km/h left-hand turn into the first ‘S’ of the Piscine. The grandstand here, tribune K, enjoys unrestricted views of the beautiful harbour and is a very popular spot for spectators. There is also a screen at this corner, to watch the rest of the race action.

Go for the full race lover’s package and add our post cruise stay in Cannes with Sunday in Monte Carlo for the Grand Prix Monaco race! STI recommends Grandstand V at Anthony Noghes, just after Rascasse. After Casino square, these tickets sell out first!

GRANDSTAND V – Sunday – Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix
The last corner before the start/finish line, Anthony Noghes is a very popular corner with spectators. Overlooked by tribune V, this small grandstand with a screen to watch the rest of the race is always one of the first to sell out. It is an 80km/h right-hand turn for the drivers, leading up to the start/finish straight. It is also directly opposite the pit lane entrance. From Anthony Noghes, spectators can enjoy an excellent view of the pre-race build-up, get an up close view of the drivers walking up from the F1 paddock and have a privileged view of the start, and of course end, of the race. The Anthony Noghes corner is arguably one of the most exciting places to be for the Monaco GP.

    Purchase your tickets at https://www.monaco-grand-prix.com/en/2542-monaco-f1/
Seats for both events listed above are currently 650 Euros including ticket service fees. That’s approximately $750 USD by today’s exchange rate.

Our goal is to have our members reserve as early as possible to make sure we not only experience the event together but that nobody is disappointed when the sections sell out.

Of course, we invite members to view the descriptions and choose the seats that best fit your personality and budget.

Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by STI. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays. Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate without paying an equivalent fee to the rest of the group that made the reservation with STI. Your credit card on file will automatically be charged.

In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as land/cruise only. Therefore, airfare is additional. Singles Travel International is a licensed ticketing agency and oftentimes has low negotiated fares.

If you plan to arrange your own flights, make sure to arrive in Nice before 12:00 p.m. on May 21 and depart after 2:00 p.m. on May 28, unless you add extra nights in Cannes to attend the Formula 1 Grand Prix race on Sunday in Monaco. On May 21, all members are requested aboard no later than 4:00 p.m. for a welcome aboard party and eventual 10:00 p.m. sailing.

Join our group transfer from Nice to Cannes/Star Flyer departing NCE at 2:00 p.m. for $59. Purchase on our Price & Options tab.

Please provide your flight schedule to us no later than 30 days prior to departure so that transfers may be arranged.

Note that on the day of disembarkation, all members must be off no later than 10:00 a.m. The earliest tender departs at approximately 8-8:30 a.m. Allow 1 hour for any transfer and check in for Nice is 2 hours. We recommend that you book a return flight after 2:00 p.m. on departure day for a leisurely breakfast on the last morning and transfer to Nice in time for your flight.

If you plan to join us in Cannes for our Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco package, we will have a group pick up at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. In order to participate in our group transfer from Cannes to Nice on May 30 at 7:30 a.m., reserve your flight for 10:30 a.m. or later.

Most visitors to Cannes France arrive at the Nice International Airport. The French city of Nice is located 25 kilometers east of Cannes. STI offers round-trip transfers on cruise departure and arrival days, see our Price & Options tab to make a request.

To transfer at any time, the least expensive route is via bus for 20 Euros one way or 30 round-trip. It is easy to purchase a ticket after you exit the airport, about 300 yards to the right of the taxi stand.
    http://en.nice.aeroport.fr/Passengers/DIRECTIONS-PARKING/Gestion-Bus-et-Navettes/Bus-lines/210-EXPRESS-Cannes

Taxis cost approximately $80-$100 USD and may vary depending upon traffic.

The ship anchors off the coast of Cannes at Quai Laubeuf, Port de Cannes, 06400 Cannes, France (+33 4 92 98 71 36). It is in the center of the town, near the old city and the Radisson Blu Hotel. The walk to the small, Star Clipper kiosk is about 5 blocks. We have walked it, but if you have heavy luggage, you may need a taxi.

Star Clippers checks you in pier side, then transfers you by tender to the vessel.

Boarding & Welcome Aboard Party begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon and all members are requested to be aboard no later than 9 p.m.

Our STI Concierge will be awaiting your arrival at 4 p.m. aboard the Star Flyer, or at Nice Airport at 2 p.m.

Our cruise does not include airfare, transfers, extra hotel nights before and after the cruise and shore excursions. You are responsible for alcoholic beverages (except when included in STI events), meals not indicated in itinerary, incidentals such as laundry and phone calls, gratuities to STI staff ($10-$15 per day) and Star Clipper crew members. The approximate gratuity is 8 Euros per day which is pooled by the entire crew.

We urge you to verify baggage restrictions with all your air carriers in advance. Small carriers in Europe may charge greater fees and if you over pack, you may end up paying a hefty bill or have your bags left behind. We remind you again and again, to pack as lightly as possible, mixing and matching colors. The attire for this cruise is casual, dinner is smart casual (no tanks, t-shirts, shorts) and there is a Captain’s dinner which is upscale casual

The currency used throughout our cruise is the Euro. For up to date exchange rates, visit www.xe.com. Your credit card will be accepted to settle your bill onboard the Star Flyer, as well as in major shops and restaurants ashore. All onboard purchases are billed with a guest check and added to your personal shipboard account. At the end of the cruise, you will receive a total bill, that may be paid with cash or charged to a credit card. If you are sharing with another guest, no worries. You will each receive a separate statement.

Prepare by verifying with your credit card company whether or not they have an international conversion fee. Some allow charges with no fee, others charge up to 3% per transaction.

We generally recommend $300-$500 to members based on their lifestyles. Most charges such as cocktails, excursions and and tips for the crew are able to be placed on your shipboard account and charged to your credit card. Allow for shopping in port and any off ship dining.

Yes and be sure to confirm that your passport is current and will be valid at least six months after your departure. If you do not have one or need a new one, contact the State Department Passport Office in your area immediately or visit http://www.travel.state.gov/. We recommend that you also make copies of your passport, driver’s license, photo identification card and/or birth certificate in case of loss, and carry them with you on your trip separate from your passport.

Visas may be required for non US citizens and it is every member’s responsibility to obtain the proper documentation prior to departure from the US.

Never pack your passport or other important documentation in your checked luggage!

Absolutely. Our site is so popular that we guarantee to find a roommate for you or the single cabin is on us! Guarantees are based on the lowest priced category. Upgrades are charged the full single rate less the lowest share credit if no equal match is found. In order to take advantage of our offer, you must be paid in full by February 19, 2016.

Of course, after we sell out our 10 solo cabins, single cabins are available at an additional 50%, assessed by Star Clipper. Even after the cut-off date, we get so many calls that finding a roommate is easy. So please let us know if you are interested when making your booking.

Our guarantee is based on the lowest, inside cabin share rate. If you opt for a higher category and we are unable to match in that category, you are responsible for the difference to move a member into your cabin to make a match. You may also opt to take your own cabin at that time for the single cabin rate. Assessments are made at final payment date, 90 days prior to departure.

Roommate matches are based on the same sex, general age range and smoking preference whenever possible, but not guaranteed. STI reserves the right to make any match up until day of cruising, including roommate changes once onboard for members who select the Share & Save option.

We highly recommend that our guests contact their roommates in advance. Booked members have access to our private online chat. Meet your roommate as well as the other members on your vacation. Singles Travel International makes every effort to accommodate requests, but does not guarantee the satisfaction or success of a roommate match. It’s the responsibility of the guest to contact his/her roommate and ask the appropriate questions.

Optional pre and post cruise/tour stays are not eligible for the guarantee. Chances are excellent that we’ll find you a match, but if no match found by 30 days prior to departure, member pays the single supplement.

Read more about Roommate Matching on our Frequently Asked Questions found at the Help Center.

Please contact your preferred carrier directly to make your reservation. If Singles Travel International issues a promotional economy fare, granting of frequent flyer credit is entirely at the airline’s discretion. If the flights are eligible, to ensure you earn frequent flyer credit from the airline, give your frequent flyer account number when you check in for your flights. In addition, save your boarding passes and the passenger receipt from your airline ticket. You may need to submit these to the airline (not to Singles Travel International) to claim any credit allowed.

No! Just relax and laze about and leave the sailing to Star Flyer’s professional crew. But if you wish to learn the ropes, the crew is more than happy to have you help hoist the sails, take a turn at the wheel and even enjoy classes on knot tying, the stars, or navigation.

As little or as much as you wish. This is your home away from home for the week, so you may sunbathe, jump off and swim or float, kayak, read, socialize, party, dance, lead, follow, participate in group games, steer the ship, enjoy sailing related classes, sleep on deck under the stars, play board games, exercise, or just sit and take in the beauty of the ship, listen to the wind in the rigging and the waves lapping against the hull. You are the master of your day! This is not a “if it’s 1 p.m., there’s bingo in the Lido” kind of an experience. Come prepared to be interesting and interested.

Yes! A Complimentary Watersports Program may Include Water-skiing, Windsurfing, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Sunfish Sailing and Snorkeling based on country regulations. Based on the ports for this cruise, the snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking will be the main water sports.

Most of the day is spent in port exploring the ports of call. Excursions and activities vary from port to port. Hiking, mountain biking, snorkeling, island tours, beach BBQ’s, sunbathing on pristine beaches, hikes, and so much more. Most landings will be dry, but some may be wet, and tenders are used in many ports.

Excursion prices are subject to change at any time but generally cost $50 and up. STI will provide a sneak peak before you depart. All options are purchased onboard, not in advance, and billed directly to your shipboard account.

Yes. Coffee, tea and juices are available at all meals on a complimentary basis.

Singles Travel International has also included a Welcome Aboard Ice Breaker Party with Complimentary Open Bar as well as a Complimentary Glass of Wine with Dinner Every Night! How could we take you to France and not offer wine!?

Smoking is permitted in designated areas at the Tropical Bar and on Sun Deck. Candles, matches and lighters may never be used in your cabin.

Of course not. This is an all singles cruise and that means every guest aboard the Mandalay is single. In addition, you will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our members on every trip sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. In 21 years, we have perfected the singles vacation experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day.

Our “All Ages” vacations cater to 45+ and our average age range is 46 to 66. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. Ages listed on our page are not restricted. They are simply used as a guideline and STI does not guarantee ages and ratios. As a travel club, matchmaking is not our focus. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee the ages or ratios.

We’re here for the sailing and the race! Temps will vary from low 70s to low 80s during the daytime with lots of sunshine! Evenings are cooler and members will want to bring a jacket and scarves are always in for both men and women in France & Italy!

Seasickness is seldom a problem on large sailing vessels. The wind in the sails prevents much of the rolling motion that may cause sea sickness. If you are prone to motion sickness or have experienced seasickness in the past, consult your doctor for a patch, an appropriate medication or natural remedies. Make sure to take your medication prior to sailing or feeling ill, or it may not be effective.

STI notes that ginger is an age old remedy and we recommend binging some ginger candies or dried ginger if you have access to it.

Pack lightly! We recommend 1 small to medium bag, soft sided or duffel type bag due to limited space in your cabin, especially when sharing with another member.

Dress code on our cruise is casual so you won’t need fancy gowns, tuxedos or a pair of shoes for every evening!

Currently, most airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing 50 pounds, for a fee. In addition you may carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage.

This week is super relaxed, no formalities! Don’t forget a light jacket or sweatshirt for night breezes when star gazing. If you plan on hiking don’t forget a pair of sneakers or hiking boots, otherwise, bare feet and sandals are all you’ll need. The sun is stronger down in the islands, so make sure you use a stronger sunscreen than you’d use at home. If you must doll up and need to have your hairdryer and curling iron, electricity onboard is standard US 110 volts. Also bring, your contract of passage/Confirmation from STI, passport and picture ID.

Packing Tips: Take only what you need; don’t over pack. Save room for souvenirs and purchases. Pack flat and full to avoid wrinkling. Bring wardrobe basics; mix and match around one or two colors. Don’t pack anything valuable, fragile or perishable, including prescription medications and travel documents. Label your luggage with an outside tag, and place an identification card inside each suitcase.

My Packing List: We highly recommend that you bring the following items.

    – An open minded attitude and a ready smile!
    – Soft sided duffle bag for easy storage and easy access (may be stored under your bed).
    – Light jacket or long sleeve shirt for evenings on deck star gazing.
    – Tevas or deck shoes for onboard (or barefoot).
    – A pair of sneakers or hiking boots
    – Sunglasses, sun block, sun hat or visor. Sun is much stronger on the water than on land, even when temps are cooler.
    – A pair of binoculars.
    – Light rain gear.
    – Air freshener.
    – Bug spray and Benadryl cream.
    – Toiletries: all your daily essentials and a toiletry bag with hook for hanging.
    – Drinking Swag (based on your personal needs): Temps are hot and humid and all drinks sweat, keep em cool or hot with a Travel Coffee Cup with lid, Travel water bottle, Beer Coozie, Turvis (insulted) glass, small collapsible cooler.
    – Beach towel if desired, not necessary. Pareo wrap for ladies.
    – Be the life of the party! Being glow in the dark party favors.
    – Prescription medications: sufficient supply for the entire trip plus legible written prescription in case of loss. Keep medications in their original, labeled container. Always pack your medications in your carry-on bag!
    – Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution. You may want to bring along a written prescription for your eyewear in case of loss.
    – Over the counter medications: cold remedy, aspirin/pain reliever, antacid/stomach upset remedy, Band-Aids, Neosporin or other anti-bacterial medication.
    – Power strip for all your gadgets – most cabins have only one outlet.
-Electrical Adaptor & Converter for Europe
    – Travel alarm clock with illuminated face, especially for guests in an inside cabin.
    – Small, Swiss Army type utility knife. Remember to pack this in your checked luggage!
    – Travel journal/notepad and reading material.
    – Home address book (iphone/smart phone) for sending postcards. A useful tip to avoid bringing your entire address book is to pre-write names and addresses of people to whom you want to send postcards on sheets of self-adhesive labels. It saves time and space in your luggage.
    – Small, basic sewing kit with a few extra buttons. Remember to pack scissors in your checked bag!
    – Photography Equipment: Bring a sufficient supply of film and extra batteries. If you are bringing a digital camera, you should bring extra memory chips.

Travel Insurance is available through Travel Guard and in addition to direct access immediately upon completing your purchase, you will receive a quote from Travel Guard regarding travel insurance after reserving your vacation.  If you have any questions, Travel Guard professional, expert agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.   Call us, if you have not received your quote within 3 days.

Your Final Vacation Details & Meetup Info Document (posted here on FAQ 14 days prior to departure) will include phone contact numbers for the ship and hotel. We suggest you leave a copy of this with your family.

You may be able to use your own phone plan if you add an international calling package before you depart, generally .99-1.99 per minute (check before departure). Data packages are also a great idea to add to your plan if you wish to stay connected on social media. STI was able to get 120G for $30 with AT&T. Well worth it!

There are direct dial phones in each cabin aboard the SVP Star Flyer, but charges are generally $10 per minute. Internet cafes are available in some ports, not all.

Our office is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. In an emergency after hours, please have your family contact Tammy Weiler at 815-715-6998.

All countries you will visit have laws against the purchase and export of certain items, including antiquities, national cultural property and certain animal products, especially endangered species (ivory, rhino horn, tortoise shell, coral, feathers, etc.). Additionally, the United States has laws prohibiting the import of certain items, which include many of the same things. You face having your purchase confiscated and/or heavy fines for exporting or importing prohibited items.

On return to the U.S., your baggage is subject to search by U.S. Customs. Currently, you are permitted to bring back $800 of goods duty free. Persons aged 21 or over may also bring in one liter of liquor and one carton of cigarettes. If you plan to purchase a lot of souvenirs or expensive items, it is important to retain all purchase receipts. However, please note that U.S. Customs may not accept a receipt as true cost if it seems unusually low for the estimated value of the item. You may access the regulations and restrictions governing US Customs on their official website, click here to learn more.

I just came back from a fantastic Mediterranean vacation aboard the Norwegian Epic. STI was fantastic from the office staff to our cruise hostesses June and Georgia. I look forward to traveling with STI again in the future!

The Epic Med cruise was fantastic. It was my first trip to Europe and was a nice taste of Spain, Italy and France. The day I saw there was a cruise without a single supplement was when I signed up. Nice group and made lots of new friends. Thanks STI!
