Our Magical Nile River Singles Cruise is a trip of a lifetime! Beginning and ending in Cairo, we’ll explore Egypt’s most fascinating archaeological sites: In Cairo, we’ll visit the Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza. See the Ramses II statue in Memphis and King Tut’s tomb in Cairo’s Egyptian Museum. In Old Cairo, see the Church of the Virgin Mary (also called the Hanging Church), built in the place where Mary and Jesus were said to find refuge during their flight to Egypt, and visit the Alabaster Mosque. These and more exciting discoveries are to be found as you see Egypt’s incredible monuments to pharaohs and gods of Egyptian history.

After Cairo, we’ll fly to Luxor to embark on our Nile River cruise. We’ll visit the Luxor Temple, Avenue of the Sphinxes, monument of Karnak, and the Temple of Amun-Ra before enjoying an onboard welcome reception on our ship. Visit the valley of Kings and Valley of Queens, where the pristine tomb of King Tut was found with undisturbed riches and splendor. This incredible cruise on the Nile River takes you to amazing ancient sites, including the twin temples at Kom Ombo, devoted to the crocodile god Sobek-Ra and the falcon god Horus. Ponder the magnitude of the task of building the pyramids with a visit to the granite quarries—where an unfinished obelisk still remains. Visit the Temple of Isis, then take a return flight to Cairo to wander the world’s largest open-air museum, and browse the bustling maze of the endless bazaar in Cairo’s medieval alleys. Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation tour in Cairo, expedition to the Egyptian pyramids, and a Nile River cruise you’ll never forget.

Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by STI. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays. Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate without paying an equivalent fee to the rest of the group that made the reservation with STI. Your credit card on file will automatically be charged.

Of course! We offer a FREE 1 Night Pre-Tour/Cruise Package (April 7-8, 2022): Click ‘Price my Trip’ or ‘Book now’ to make your reservation. Transportation to and from the hotel is included in our  packages; please make sure to book your flight to arrive before 5:00 pm on April 7 in order to take advantage of the free transfer.

Although we make every effort, Singles Travel International does not guarantee roommate shares for Pre-tour/cruise stays. If no roommate is found, single occupancy rates prevail and are payable 30 days prior to departure.

In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as land/cruise only. Therefore, airfare is additional. Singles Travel International is a licensed ticketing agency and oftentimes has low negotiated fares.

In order to be ready to begin the tour in Cairo, please arrive in Cairo (CAI) no later than 5:00 pm on April 8, 2022, in order to take advantage of the included transfer.  Your return flight can depart on April 17 at any time between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Our tour does not include your airfare, meals not included in the itinerary, alcoholic beverages (except when included in Singles Travel International events and wine/beer during dinner on the MS Farah), incidentals such as laundry and phone calls, plus gratuities to STI staff ($15 per day), local guides and the cruise staff (suggested $15/day). You may also be charged a delivery fee, imposed by our vendors, for special delivery of documents including international and expedited documents.

Absolutely. Our site is so popular that we guarantee to find a roommate for you or the single cabin is on us! In order to take advantage of our offer, you must be paid in full by November 23, 2021. Guarantees are based on the lowest priced category. Upgrades are charged the full single rate less the lowest share credit if no equal match is found.

Of course, single cabins are available at an additional rate assessed by Avalon. Even after the cut-off date, we get so many calls that finding a roommate is easy. So please let us know if you are interested when making your booking.

Our guarantee is based on the lowest, inside cabin share rate. If you opt for a higher category and we are unable to match in that category, you are responsible for the difference to move a member into your cabin to make a match. You may also opt to take your own cabin at that time for the single cabin rate. Assessments are made at final payment date: November 23, 2021.

Roommate matches are based on the same sex, general age range and smoking preference whenever possible, but not guaranteed. STI reserves the right to make any match up until day of cruising, including roommate changes once onboard for members who select the Share & Save option.

We highly recommend that our guests contact their roommates in advance. Booked members have access to our private online chat. Meet your roommate as well as the other members on your vacation. Singles Travel International makes every effort to accommodate requests, but does not guarantee the satisfaction or success of a roommate match. It’s the responsibility of the guest to contact his/her roommate and ask the appropriate questions.

Optional pre and post cruise/tour stays are not eligible for the roommate match guarantee. Chances are excellent that we’ll find you a match, but if no match found by 30 days prior to departure, member pays the single supplement.

Read more about Roommate Matching on our Frequently Asked Questions found at the Help Center.

Please contact your preferred carrier directly to make your reservation. If Singles Travel International issues a promotional economy fare, granting of frequent flyer credit is entirely at the airline’s discretion. If the flights are eligible, to ensure you earn frequent flyer credit from the airline, give your frequent flyer account number when you check in for your flights. The best time to visit Egypt is between October and April, when temperatures are cooler, but still pleasantly warm across the country. This makes exploring the busy streets of Cairo, visiting the Pyramids in the desert, and exploring ancient Pharaonic tombs more comfortable and enjoyable.

The weather changes from year to year but nevertheless, prepare for all conditions. The temps this time of the year warm but not unbearable: reaching the low 80s and sunny. Evenings can be a bit cooler, usually in the mid-to-low 60s. Rain is possible, although not likely, but pack accordingly.

Check out www.wunderground.com for up to date predictions as well as historical data for you destination,

Currently, most international airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing 50 pounds each, for free. In addition you may carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage.

As a Muslim country, the dress code is a bit different than other places you may have traveled, particularly for women. Here’s a guideline:

  • You do not have to cover your hair in Egypt.
  • Try to keep your shoulders and knees covered as much as possible. That being said, capris and dresses/skirts that show your ankles are fine, and so are shirts/dresses that show your arms.
  • Skinny jeans or tighter pants are also fine, as Egypt is becoming a bit more modern, but pair them with a looser top.
  • Lightweight and breathable clothing is best for the daytime, for both men and women.
  • Don’t show your cleavage.
  • Bring comfortable walking shoes. The sand is hot and hard to walk in.
  • Bring a lightweight scarf with you to use to cover your cleavage/head/shoulders should you go in any temples.

Packing Tips: Take only what you need; don’t over pack. A river cruise is casual. Save room for souvenirs and purchases. Pack flat and full to avoid wrinkling. Bring wardrobe basics; mix and match around one or two colors. Don’t pack anything valuable, fragile or perishable. Label your luggage with an outside tag, and place an identification card inside each suitcase.

Essential Items for a River Cruise: We highly recommend that you bring the following items.

– A smile and an open minded attitude
– Binoculars for best sightseeing while cruising
– Light Jacket (wind-and rainproof outer shell)
– A good, comfortable pair of broken-in walking shoes
– A pair of shoes for restaurants, evenings on the town (ship is casual)
– Collapsible umbrella and/or lightweight raingear.
– Sunglasses
– Toiletries: all your daily essentials.
– Prescription medications: sufficient supply for the entire trip plus legible written prescription in case of loss. Keep medications in their original, labeled container. Always pack your medications in your carry-on bag!
– Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution. You may want to bring along a written prescription for your eyewear in case of loss.
– Over the counter medications: cold remedy, aspirin/pain reliever, antacid/stomach upset remedy, Band-Aids, money or other anti-bacterial medication.
– Travel alarm clock with illuminated face, especially for guests in an inside cabin.
– Travel journal/notepad and reading material.
– Small, basic sewing kit with a few extra buttons. Remember to pack scissors in your checked bag!
– Photography Equipment.

A passport and Visa are required for travel to Egypt. Be sure to confirm that your passport is current and will be valid at least six months after your return. If you do not have one or need a new one, contact the State Department Passport Office in your area immediately or visit their website.

We recommend that you also make copies of your passport, driver’s license, photo identification card and/or birth certificate in case of loss, and carry them with you on your trip separate from your passport.

US passport holders are required to have an entry Visa for Egypt. Avalon Waterways will arrange for your tourist Visa for you.

Non US Citizens are responsible for verifying their own required documentation for this tour.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommends updating all routine booster shots for travel almost anywhere. In addition, the CDC recommends Hepatitis A and B vaccines. We suggest that you have a physical check-up before your trip, and discuss the type of trip in which you are participating with your physician.

You and your physician may access much more, very detailed health information for travelers (including tips on staying healthy while traveling) on the CDC website. Click their “Traveler’s Health” link or call toll-free 24-hours at 1-800-CDC-INFO (800-232-4636).

You may find the current exchange rates in the financial sections of newspapers and on the Internet. You may also find a number of websites by typing “foreign exchange rates” in your search engine. What Our Members Are Saying

Just returned home after a WONDERFUL Rockin', Romantic Rhine Cruise with STI. It was a very different experience from a large cruise ship, as it had about 140 passengers. I got to meet many people from STI and others from outside the group. Terrific experience! Each day, we had excursions, included in the tour. We really got to see the cities where we stopped. The local color was amazing. It was quite an experience to see castles, windows, Gutenberg Bibles up close and personal. Plenty of time to shop or just walk around.  The food was wonderful. With breakfast, we could have sparkling wine or mimosas. With dinner, the wine and beer were flowing freely. My favorite two optional excursions were a German Dinner (not to miss) and a trip to a functioning windmill, where we went right inside to see how it works. While cruising, we experienced going thru canal locks. In the mid portion of the Rhine, we saw castle after castle and vineyards, vineyards, vineyards. I highly recommend this trip. Heaven for photography. It is an experience of a lifetime!

The Rockin Rhine River Cruise was one of the best vacations I have ever had. Our group kept things lively and there was always someone that was around to do things like shopping or tours....or just to sit around in a Biergarten and relax with a glass of local wine or beer.
