Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every trip sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. In 24 years, we have perfected the singles vacation experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day. From the moment you join our tour, our local guide is waiting to meet you. Our first day begins with an orientation and the camaraderie builds as we go along. The object of your vacation is trying something new, seeing new places and making new friends. The bonds that develop on our tours are by far the strongest and longest lasting.

Absolutely. Our site is so popular that we guarantee to find a roommate for you or the single room is on us! In order to take advantage of our offer, you must be paid in full by July 3, 2018. Of course, single accommodations are available at an additional rate, which is assessed by the hotel. Single room availability is very limited and reservations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. If sold out, please book the share and wait list yourself when speaking to our reservation specialist.

Roommate matches are based on the same sex, general age range and smoking preference whenever possible, but not guaranteed. STI reserves the right to make any match up until day of departure, including roommate changes once on tour for members who select the Share & Save option.

We highly recommend that our guests contact their roommates in advance. Booked members have access to our private online chat. Meet your roommate as well as the other members on your vacation. Singles Travel International makes every effort to accommodate requests, but does not guarantee the satisfaction or success of a roommate match. It’s the responsibility of the guest to contact his/her roommate and ask the appropriate questions.

Optional pre and post cruise/tour stays are not eligible for the guarantee. Chances are excellent that we’ll find you a match, but if no match found by 30 days prior to departure, member pays the single supplement.

Read more about Roommate Matching on our Frequently Asked Questions found at the Help Center.

As a travel club, matchmaking is not our focus. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee ratios or ages. Our vacations are specifically designed for Baby Boomers and active travelers with an average age range of 50-70. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. Ages listed on our page are not restricted. They are simply used as a guideline.

We recommend that you meet the members of the STI Community online where you may view and interact with members via “Who’s Going” on every trip page. This is the best way to find out exactly who will be on your vacation.

We encourage our members to complete their personal profiles including a photo. Knowing who’s on the trip in advance makes socializing before and during your vacation easier and more fun.

A deposit is due at time of reservation. Refer to the Price and Options tab for the amount. Final payment is due in our office by July 3, 2018. A reminder will be emailed to you 7 days prior to due date and your card will automatically be charged. If you make a reservation afterJuly 3, full payment will be automatically charged at time of reservation and penalties will apply.

Yes. All cancellations must be made in writing to Singles Travel International and are subject to per person penalties as follows:

– After deposit and at anytime of cancellation, a minimum charge of $400.00 plus credit card charges will apply in addition to other penalties listed below.
– After July 3, 2018 any cancellations or “no-shows” – 100% penalty.

Note that if you elect to take a roommate and he/she cancels after our cut off date, we will do everything to find a new match. However, if no match is found, the difference in cost for a single cabin/room is the responsibility of the guest who cancels. No refund will be given to the guest who cancels, regardless of cruise or tour company policy as stated above. Singles Travel International is not responsible for costs related to cancellations after our cut off date.

No refund on any unused portions of the trip. After domestic airline tickets are issued, airline cancellation penalties are per the airline’s policy- usually no refund, but may be changeable with a fee and the difference of the new ticket cost. Travel insurance is recommended; carefully consider the purchasing of this important part of your travel.

Add our 1 or 2 night, “Athens Add On“ package for more fun, meet your fellow cruisers early and have peace of mind.

Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by STI. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays. Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate without paying an equivalent fee to the rest of the group that made the reservation with STI. Your credit card on file will automatically be charged.

Embarkation and cabin check-in is from 3-5 p.m. Plan to arrive early in order to take advantage of getting to know the ship and check in with Singles Travel International Concierge at our Welcome Aboard meeting. The exact time and location will be provided in your “Final Vacation Details & Meetup Information”.

In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as cruise only from Athens, Greece. Therefore, airfare to Athens is additional. Singles Travel International is a licensed ticketing agency and oftentimes has low negotiated fares.

Transfers on October 8 are applicable only for flights that depart after 1:00 p.m. out of Athens, Greece (ATH). If staying overnight, purchase our Port Piraeus to Athens City Transfer for October 8.

Please contact your preferred carrier directly to make your reservation. If Singles Travel International issues a promotional economy fare, granting of frequent flyer credit is entirely at the airline’s discretion. If the flights are eligible, to ensure you earn frequent flyer credit from the airline, give your frequent flyer account number when you check in for your flights. In addition, save your boarding passes and the passenger receipt from your airline ticket. You may need to submit these to the airline (not to Singles Travel International) to claim any credit allowed.

Transportation between the airport and ship is not included in the price. We would be happy to arrange round-trip transportation for you at an additional rate (subject to increase at any time before final payment is made) in Athens. Please make sure your flight lands in Athens, Greece (ATH) no later than 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct 1, 2018, in order to arrive by 4 p.m. for check in aboard the Crystal.

Just make sure that all of your medications are in their original containers with your prescription details. It is also recommended that you have a copy of your prescription in the event that anything is confiscated or lost. There is no guarantee, but you may be able to get it refilled in Greece.

Our cruise does not include airfare, transfers in Athens, Greece and extra hotel nights before and after the cruise. You are responsible for alcoholic beverages and meals off the Crystal, incidentals such as laundry and phone calls and gratuities to STI staff ($10-$15 per day).

Medical insurance is recommended for all tourists visiting Greece. A quote will be sent to you after you make your reservation.

Our home for the week is the Celestyal Crystal, which is a Greek crewed vessel with a 4.0 rating with Cruise Critic. Read more about the ship

October is a great time of year to visit the Greek Islands, when the weather is superb and the island is relatively quiet. During this month, the temperatures are pleasantly mild, as is the average sea temperature which retains the heat from summer. Although the chance of rainfall is slightly increased from September, it’s not so much that it should spoil your holiday in October. If you’re not bothered about the quieter atmosphere and want to take advantage of cheap prices, October is a great month to visit the Greek Islands.

The island of Mykonos is situated amongst the most northern Greek cyclades and thus benefits from a mild climate in October, helped by the warm temperatures of the Aegean Sea (around 21°C/69 F°). Average temperatures lie between 18°C and 24°C (75 F°) , meaning swimming is still a strong possibility.  All of our other islands are further south and will be slightly warmer.

Our vessel is air conditioned.

It is best to drink bottled water while in Greece. You will find that both still and sparkling water are available aboard our cruise and you may carry off to drink during your excursions. Water is purified in the hotels and restaurants, and it is ok to drink beverages with ice wherever we take you on the tour.  More may be purchased as you go and a good way to get small change for bathrooms use and shopping.

The public drinking water in Greece is safe to drink, although it can be slightly brackish in some locales near the sea. For that reason, many people prefer the bottled water available at restaurants, hotels, cafes, food stores, and kiosks.

It is also not necessary to use bottled water to brush your teeth, as the tap water has also been purified.

There is no baggage limit onboard ship.

Currently, most airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing 50 pounds each, for a fee. In addition you may carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage.

A diplomatic attitude

Essential Items: We highly recommend that you bring the following items.

– A good, comfortable pair of broken-in walking shoes.
– A pair of shoes for restaurants (loafers, sandals, etc).
– Slacks, shorts and tops and keep dressing in layers in mind
– Collapsible umbrella (which can double as a sunshade parasol) and/or lightweight raingear.
– Ladies will want to bring a nicer warm wrap, and gentlemen a nicer jacket, for evening wear.
– Sunglasses, sun block, sun hat or visor.
– Toiletries: all your daily essentials.
– Prescription medications: sufficient supply for the entire trip plus legible written prescription in case of loss. Keep medications in their original, labeled container. Always pack your medications in your carry-on bag!
– Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution. You may want to bring along a written prescription for your eyewear in case of loss.
– Over the counter medications: cold remedy, aspirin/pain reliever, antacid/stomach upset remedy, Band-Aids, money or other anti-bacterial medication.
– Travel alarm clock with illuminated face, especially for guests in an inside cabin.
– Small, Swiss Army type utility knife. Remember to pack this in your checked luggage!
– Travel journal/notepad and reading material.
– Home address book for sending postcards. A useful tip to avoid bringing your entire address book is to pre-write names and addresses of people to whom you want to send postcards on sheets of self-adhesive labels. It saves time and space in your luggage.
– Small, basic sewing kit with a few extra buttons. Remember to pack scissors in your checked bag!
– Photography Equipment: Bring a sufficient supply of film and extra batteries.
– Power strip to charge more than one item at a time. Only 1 US outlet in your cabin.
– Alternate outlet on the ship and in our hotel in Athens is European, so bring an adapter/converter.

The currency used throughout our cruise is the Euro except in Turkey, where the currency is the Turkish Lira. For up to date exchange rates, visit www.xe.com.

Your credit card will be accepted to settle your bill onboard the Crystal as well as in major shops and restaurants ashore. All onboard purchases are billed with a guest check and added to your personal shipboard account. At the end of the cruise, you will receive a total bill, which may be paid with cash or charged to a credit card. If you are sharing with another guest, no worries. You will each receive a separate statement which may be reviewed at any time on your interactive TV in the cabin.

Note that Celestial is a Greek company and therefore, to avoid international fees imposed on your credit car, bring a card that does not charge international exchange fees.

Travel Insurance is available through Travel Guard and in addition to direct access immediately upon completing your purchase, you will receive a quote from Travel Guard regarding travel insurance after reserving your vacation.  If you have any questions, Travel Guard professional, expert agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Call us if you have not received your quote within 3 days.

No inoculations are required for travel from North America to Greece. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommends updating all routine booster shots for travel almost anywhere. In addition, we suggest that you have a physical check-up before your trip, and discuss the type of trip in which you are participating with your physician.

You and your physician may access much more, very detailed health information for travelers (including tips on staying healthy while traveling) on the CDC website, cdc.gov. Click their “Traveler’s Health” link or call toll-free 24-hours at 1-800-CDC-INFO (800-232-4636)

Your Final Vacation Details & Meetup Information document will include a phone contact number for the Adventure of the Seas. Instructions on international dialing codes will be provided. We suggest you leave a copy of this with your family.

Our office is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. In an emergency after hours, please contact Tammy Weiler at 815-715-6998.

All countries you will visit have laws against the purchase and export of certain items, including antiquities, national cultural property and certain animal products, especially endangered species (ivory, rhino horn, tortoise shell, coral, feathers, etc.). Additionally, the United States has laws prohibiting the import of certain items, which include many of the same things. You face having your purchase confiscated and/or heavy fines for exporting or importing prohibited items.

On return to the U.S., your baggage is subject to search by U.S. Customs. Currently, you are permitted to bring back $800 of goods duty free. Persons aged 21 or over may also bring in one liter of liquor and one carton of cigarettes. If you plan to purchase a lot of souvenirs or expensive items, it is important to retain all purchase receipts. However, please note that U.S. Customs may not accept a receipt as true cost if it seems unusually low for the estimated value of the item. You may access the regulations and restrictions governing US Customs on their official website, click here to learn more.
