Day 4 –Sunday, September 10, 2017
Budapest City Tour
After breakfast enjoy a half day excursion of Budapest. Our morning tour begins in Pest with a chance to view Parliament, the Royal Palace and Heroes’ Square. We’ll cross the Danube River on the Elizabeth Bridge into the Buda Hills. Visit Mount Gellert, then continue to Castle Hill to see the 13th century Matthias Coronation Church. From Fisherman’s Bastion, enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Tonight, choose the optional Danube Cruise that includes dinner at sunset. Our STI Concierge is also ready with options for a leisurely dinner.
Optional: Danube Cruise with Dinner ($99): Enjoy a relaxing cruise down the Danube on a private boat, accompanied by the commentary of your local expert. The views from the river are magnificent as you admire the skyline from a different perspective of the city after sunset. The buffet dinner features Hungarian specialties and wine. Day 5 – Monday, September 11, 2017
Travel to Vienna
Spend the morning at leisure in Budapest or join the optional tour to the Parliament, St Stephen’s Basilica and the historic Great Market Hall. Later, depart Hungary and travel through the Austrian countryside to Vienna, the former center of the Hapsburg Empire. Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure in Vienna. Tonight, perhaps take the opportunity to attend an evening of Viennese culture in the “City of Music” at an optional concert performance of the classical masterpieces of Mozart and Strauss, two of Vienna’s most famous citizens.
Optional: Optional Mozart & Strauss Concert ($79): Experience a delightful evening of Viennese culture in the “City of Music.” Attend a concert featuring the classical masterpieces of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss, two of Vienna’s most famous citizens. The musicians will bring to life the passionate strains of Mozart, a child prodigy who blossomed into one of history’s greatest composers and Strauss, the Waltz King, who composed the Blue Danube, the world’s most famous waltz. Vienna City Tour
After breakfast this morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour that begins with a visit to the impressive Schoënbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Hapsburg emperors. View the Belvedere Palace and its gardens. Continue with a drive along the famous Ringstrasse and view the Empress Maria Theresia Monument, Votive Church, City Hall and Parliament. Next, walk through the Hofburg courtyards to the State Opera House. The rest of the day is at leisure, or join the optional The Glory of the Hapsburg Emperors. Journey through over 1,000 years of power, wealth and glory and experience imperial Vienna at the Hapsburg Treasury. Afterwards, visit the Imperial Crypt where our local expert makes the days of the great Empire come alive. For optional dinner tonight, our STI Concierge will have plenty of ideas.

It has undergone a major revitalization and now flourishes as one of Europe’s newest capitals. The beautifully restored old town with its winding lanes and medieval courtyards is nestled between the steep Castle Hill and the Danube River. First, explore the historic center on a guided walking tour. After, take time to stroll the lively pedestrian streets of this charming city where local street vendors offer regional gifts before returning to Vienna. Tonight is a highlight of our tour with dinner at an Austrian Heurigen Tavern. Local musicians entertain us with traditional melodies while hearty Austrian dishes are served.

Travel to Prague via Cesky Krumlov
Enjoy breakfast at our hotel. This morning, depart Austria for the Czech Republic. Begin with a stop in Cesky Krumlov, a fairy-tale town with a maze of narrow cobbled streets. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992, Cesky Krumlov has earned an international reputation as a time capsule of the past. Enjoy a short walk through the town and view its Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance houses. Later, continue through Southern Bohemia to the Czech capital, Prague – “The City of a Thousand Spires”. Tonight, join the group for an optional dinner at a typical restaurant.

Prague City Tour
Breakfast at our hotel. This morning’s sightseeing will include a walking tour of the Lesser Town and the Old Town, viewing the Infant Jesus of Prague Church and include the 14th century Charles Bridge, with its 30 baroque statues of various saints. From here, admire the view of Prague Castle. Continue through the Old Town Square to view the famous Old Town Hall Tower & Astronomical Clock, viewing the Municipal House, Powder Tower and the Jewish Quarter. The rest of the day is at leisure or join the optional afternoon tour to the hilltop Prague Castle complex, former residence of Bohemian Kings and to the magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral, where Kings were crowned and battles were fought. Experience spectacular vistas of the entire city below. This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant then navigate the nightlife of this vibrant city with the assistance of your STI Concierge!

The tour begins in Budapest at 6:00 p.m. on September 9, 2017 and ends the morning of September 17, 2017. Therefore the tour is 8 nights/9 days.Note: Flights from North America must depart on September 8 in order to arrive in Budapest on September 9. The actual length of the trip is 9 nights/10 days (first night on airplane).

Note that if you elect to take a roommate and he/she cancels after our cut off date, we will do everything to find a new match. However, if no match is found, the difference in cost for a single cabin/room is the responsibility of the guest who cancels. No refund will be given to the guest who cancels, regardless of cruise or tour company policy as stated above. Singles Travel International is not responsible for costs related to cancellations after our cut off date.
For all air-inclusive packages cancelled after airline tickets have been issued, tickets are non-refundable and often times unusable.

Remember that if you arrive early or stay late, transportation to and from the hotel is not included in our pre or post tour package. Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by STI. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays. Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate without paying an equivalent fee to the rest of the group that made the reservation with STI. Your credit card on file will automatically be charged.
In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as land/cruise only. Therefore, airfare is additional. Singles Travel International is a licensed ticketing agency and oftentimes has low negotiated fares.
In order to be ready to begin the tour in Budapest at 6:00 p.m. on September 9, you may be required to depart your home city on the day before. Reserve your flights into BUDAPEST (BUD). The trip concludes in PRAGUE (PRG) on the morning of September 17, so you may schedule your return at any time that day.
Please contact your preferred carrier directly to make your reservation. If Singles Travel International issues a promotional economy fare, granting of frequent flyer credit is entirely at the airline’s discretion. If the flights are eligible, to ensure you earn frequent flyer credit from the airline, give your frequent flyer account number when you check in for your flights. In addition, save your boarding passes and the passenger receipt from your airline ticket. You may need to submit these to the airline (not to Singles Travel International) to claim any credit allowed.

Our tour does not include airfare, transfers, optional excursions, most dinners and extra hotel nights before or after the tour. You are responsible for alcoholic beverages (except when included in STI events), incidentals such as laundry and phone calls, plus gratuities to STI staff ($10-$15 per day) and local guides.
It has been our experience over 22 years that the best possible quality of service is achieved when our Concierge Team is compensated by tips from our delighted members. This is their best incentive to make your vacation an exceptional experience. You will have an opportunity to reward your STI Concierge at the end of your tour. It is customary to tip, but of course, gratuities are at your discretion and are greatly appreciated for a job well done!
Absolutely. Our site is so popular that we guarantee to find a roommate for you or the single room is on us! In order to take advantage of our offer, you must be paid in full by June 1, 2017. Of course, single accommodations are available at an additional rate assessed by the hotel.
Roommate matches are based on the same sex, general age range and smoking preference whenever possible, but not guaranteed. STI reserves the right to make any match up until day of departure, including roommate changes once on tour for members who select the Share & Save option.
We highly recommend that our guests contact their roommates in advance. Booked members have access to our private online chat. Meet your roommate as well as the other members on your vacation. Singles Travel International makes every effort to accommodate requests, but does not guarantee the satisfaction or success of a roommate match. It’s the responsibility of the guest to contact his/her roommate and ask the appropriate questions.
Optional pre and post cruise/tour stays are not eligible for the guarantee. Chances are excellent that we’ll find you a match, but if no match found by 30 days prior to departure, member pays the single supplement.

Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every trip sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. In 23 years, we have perfected the singles vacation experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day. From the moment you join our tour , our STI Travel Directors are waiting to meet you. Our first day begins with an orientation and the camaraderie builds as we go along. The nature of the trip is trying something new, challenging yourself and motivating those around you. The bonds that develop on our tours are by far the strongest and longest lasting.
This tour was specially designed for singles ages 40+. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. Ages listed on our page are not restricted. They are simply used as a guideline. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee the ratio or ages.
The days are still warm but not as hot as in the summer. Expect plenty of pleasant, sunny days in September, but with cooler temperatures. The average temperature is 17°C (62 °F). Perfect weather for touring!
Currently, most airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing 50 pounds, for a fee. In addition you may carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage. On TOUR, one bag and 1 carry on per person.
Bring along fall clothing with a sweater or light jacket for evenings. We recommend that you mix and match using 1-3 colors, such as khaki, brown and white and think layers. Ts and slacks for daytime with a sweater or fleece to add or take off. Comfortable walking shoes are a must.
Packing Tips: Take only what you need; don’t over pack. Save room for souvenirs and purchases. Pack flat and full to avoid wrinkling. Bring wardrobe basics; mix and match around 1-3 colors. Don’t pack anything valuable, fragile or perishable. Label your luggage with an outside tag, and place an identification card inside each suitcase.
Essential Items: We highly recommend that you bring the following items.
– A good, comfortable pair of broken-in walking shoes.
– A pair of shoes for restaurants (loafers, dress shoes, etc)
– Bathing suit, we have our own indoor pool in some hotels
– Sunglasses, sun block, sun hat or visor
– Jeans and slav with T shirts for daytime, khakis & polos/sundresses for night time
– Light jacket or sweater for evenings
– Scarf for warmth as well as fashion
– Toiletries: all your daily essentials.
– Prescription medications: sufficient supply for the entire trip plus legible written prescription in case of loss. Keep medications in their original, labeled container. Always pack your medications in your carry-on bag!
– Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution. You may want to bring along a written prescription for your eyewear in case of loss.
– Over the counter medications: cold remedy, aspirin/pain reliever, antacid/stomach upset remedy, Band-Aids, money or other anti-bacterial medication.
– Travel alarm clock with illuminated face, especially for guests in an inside cabin.
– Small, Swiss Army type utility knife. Remember to pack this in your checked luggage!
– Travel journal/notepad and reading material.
– Home address book for sending postcards. A useful tip to avoid bringing your entire address book is to pre-write names and addresses of people to whom you want to send postcards on sheets of self-adhesive labels. It saves time and space in your luggage.
– Small, basic sewing kit with a few extra buttons. Remember to pack scissors in your checked bag!
– Photography Equipment: Bring a sufficient supply of film and extra batteries.
– A European adapter and converter for your electrical gadgets.
The currency used throughout our tour is the Euro except in Prague.
The currency in Prague is the Czech Crown (czk). Some hotels, shops and restaurants accept Euros as well, but many only take Czech Crowns.
Exchange Rates: The exchange rate for the Euro fluctuates often. You may find the current exchange rates in the financial sections of newspapers and on the Internet. You may also find a number of websites by typing “foreign exchange rates” in your search engine. Two specific websites are: xe.com and money.cnn.com/markets/currencies.
Currency Exchange: Many locations will accept major credit cards, but for incidentals and small vendors you will need some local currency. ATM machines will dispense local currency for internationally accepted ATM cards and/or credit cards. They are usually conveniently located in large cities, but are limited in smaller towns and rural areas.
Credit Cards: Your credit card will be accepted to settle your incidentals bill at all hotels and in major shops and restaurants.
For security and flexibility, diversify your source of funds: carry an ATM card, a credit card and some cash.
Travel Insurance is available through Travel Guard and in addition to direct access immediately upon completing your purchase, you will receive a quote from Travel Guard regarding travel insurance after reserving your vacation. If you have any questions, Travel Guard professional, expert agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call us, if you have not received your quote within 3 days.
Your Final Vacation Details & Meetup Information document, posted to the FAQ tab 14 days prior to departure, will include phone contact numbers for our hotels. We suggest you leave a copy of this with your family.
For easy, less expensive communication in Europe, you may be able to use your own phone plan, generally .99-1.99 per minute (check before departure).
Internet access is available almost everywhere, including our hotels, but access is not always free. We recommend that you contact your provider before you depart to add an international roaming, text and data package. Most may be disabled once you return home.

All countries you will visit have laws against the purchase and export of certain items, including antiquities, national cultural property and certain animal products, especially endangered species (ivory, rhino horn, tortoise shell, coral, feathers, etc.). Additionally, the United States has laws prohibiting the import of certain items, which include many of the same things. You face having your purchase confiscated and/or heavy fines for exporting or importing prohibited items.
On return to the U.S., your baggage is subject to search by U.S. Customs. Currently, you are permitted to bring back $800 of goods duty free. Persons aged 21 or over may also bring in one liter of liquor and one carton of cigarettes. If you plan to purchase a lot of souvenirs or expensive items, it is important to retain all purchase receipts. However, please note that U.S. Customs may not accept a receipt as true cost if it seems unusually low for the estimated value of the item.
