OPTIONAL – 3 NIGHT PRE CRUISE PACKAGE IN SYDNEY- December 20-23, 2019
December 20, 2019
Upon arrival at Sydney Airport (SYD), transfer, on own, to the Hotel. The first evening is ours to discover Sydney and meet the group.
December 21, 2019 (B, L)
This morning, after a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel, we will drive through the historic Rocks area, see the Opera House, Hyde Park, St Mary’s Cathedral, Parliament House and the Art Gallery. After admiring the spectacular Sydney sights, we board the Captain Cook cruise and enjoy a beautiful lunch on Sydney Harbor. Take in the stunning views as we listen to interesting facts about the Harbor and indulge in our delicious lunch.
Stop at Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair for more magnificent views of the Opera House and Harbor Bridge, check out the colorful Royal Botanic Gardens on our way to visit The Gap and enjoy the gorgeous scenery all around us.
We will also stop at, world-famous, Bondi Beach, where we will have the chance to wander along the shoreline and dip our toes in the clear, cool water before we re-board the coach and return to the city.
Enjoy 360 degree view of Sydney as we journey to the summit on an, optional, night bridge climb! This excursion is not for the faint of heart!
Tonight, dinner will be at our leisure.
December 22, 2019 (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we head west to the iconic Blue Mountains. From a vantage point, we will be treated to a spectacular view of the Three Sisters. At Scenic World, take in the 360° views of the Jamison Valley while we enjoy the Unlimited Discovery Pass. Ride the Scenic Railway, the world’s steepest incline railway, the Cableway and Skyway, in order to view the beautiful scenery from all angles.
Our next stop is picturesque Leura for a 2 course lunch. This beautiful village will take us back in time, as it is famous for its antique stores, including an old time candy store.
This afternoon, we visit Featherdale Wildlife Park, where we will see cuddly koalas, kangaroos, crocodiles, goannas and possums.
Tonight we are in for a treat with dinner, at Nick’s Bar and Grill, in Darling Harbor.

Sydney, Australia
Sydney is not only Australia’s oldest city but it is also considered one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the most ethnically diverse on the globe. It offers something for everyone, including beaches, wineries, landmarks and world-class shopping. Take a tour of the Sydney Tower for stunning views of architectural marvels like Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge or get a feel of life below by strolling along the underwater walkways at Sydney Aquarium. The thriving urban center is also surrounded by beautiful nature with zoos, national parks, surf beaches and the Royal Botanic Gardens, featuring over 7,500 plants. Wander through the gardens, embark on a whale watching tour or a bush tour and take advantage of the area’s sunshine, lush greenery, wildlife and clear blue oceans. Sydney offers a wealth of cuisines, unique museums and cultural opportunities. Visit lively pubs and shops and tour historical buildings, at The Rocks, located on Sydney Harbor.
Picton, New Zealand
This charming seaside town is located at the head of Queen Charlotte Sound and was settled by early 19th century whalers. Picton is a bustling seaport surrounded by award-winning restaurants, local art galleries, water sports’ activities and beautiful, yet challenging, nature trails. Snap photos of beautiful flora and fauna while hiking along the famous Queen Charlotte Track or just take in the breathtaking coastal views, diverse wildlife and mystical waterfalls found within this always temperate climate.
Napier, New Zealand
Another alluring seaside town, Napier, is home to some of Hawke’s Bay’s finest wineries and beautiful architecture. A devastating earthquake, in 1931, led to a rebuilding effort that created the world’s greatest density of Art Deco buildings. Walk through the lovely streets and admire the buildings with their bold, symmetrical shapes, gentle curves and detailed ornamentation. Pop in and out of cafés, restaurants and shops while taking in the stunning seaside sites. Stop in for a beer, fish and chips or a traditional tea break. Sample a Pavlova, a popular New Zealand dessert of meringue and fresh fruit. Step outside of the city limits to tour the wineries, enjoy exclusive wine tastings and explore some of New Zealand’s most spectacular wine vintages in Hawke’s Bay. Nature enthusiasts should enjoy some bird watching or visit Cape Kidnappers to admire the world’s largest gannet nesting site. Discover sheep farms and mountain top lookouts or kick back and relax, taking in the ambience of another era.
Wellington, New Zealand
Wellington claims to be the coolest little capital in the world. Venture to Te Papa, the national museum of New Zealand, where we learn of the biological, cultural and geological history of Wellington. The museum is located only 10 minutes from the port and it’s interactive exhibits will pique our interest through innovative storytelling. Stroll along the scenic waterfront of Oriental Bay, lined with cafés, bars and ice cream vendors or take a hike through a large Central Park up to Mount Victoria. Here, enjoy spectacular 360 degree views of the city and harbor. Wellington Zoo is also only a 10 minute drive and offers the chance to play with meerkats, hand feed a giraffe, stroke a cheetah and admire the 100 different species of animals. A little west of the port, ride the iconic cable car up to Wellington Botanic Garden which offers a cable car museum, observatory and planetarium. Catch a shuttle out to the Zealandia ecosanctuary, a project to restore 556 acres of bush, and hike to the singing of native birds. On Miramar Peninsula, film fans make their journey to Middle Earth—and beyond—to learn secrets of great film making. Weta Workshop is the design and effects facility behind big movies like Blade Runner 2049, Thor: Ragnarok, Power Rangers, Man of Steel, and several Hobbit properties. Meet hipsters, artists and lovers of all things vintage on Cuba Street, amid the city’s creative craft beer scene with colorful shops, street performers and bohemian bars and cafés. Make sure and look out for Husk, a café by day and beer bar by night, or Laundry for a classic burger or tacos. Olive offers big breakfasts with excellent waffles and mimosas and Floriditas is famous for their eggs and scones. To just relax with a coffee and a small snack, Midnight Expresso is a quirky little place with great people watching.
Akaroa, New Zealand
About an hour and a half south of Christchurch, find the historic French-British settlement of Akaroa. Explore the mountainous Banks Peninsula, where the town sits, or visit the Marine Reserve created at the mouth of the Akoroa Harbor, which was once an active volcano. Discover the many species of flora and fauna that still cannot be described and must be seen. This area is also visited by Hector’s dolphins, endemic to New Zealand and the smallest species, just 4–5 feet long and 90–130 pounds in weight. This species of dolphin has a short beak, a rounded black dorsal fin and elegant color variations from a creamy white belly to dark gray extremities, setting it far apart from the more common bottlenose dolphin. Also, witness smaller species of whales, fur seals and white-flippered penguins that visit the harbor.
Dunedin, New Zealand
Dunedin is considered the architectural heritage capital and reminds many tourists of Edinburgh. The architecture, scenery and culture is borrowed heavily from those in Scotland. Once we arrive, take a cruise of the harbor and have your camera ready to spot albatross, cormorants or other sea birds. Watch out for penguins, dolphins and seals as well. Wander the beautiful Dunedin Botanic Garden and explore ancient Maori artifacts in the Otago Museum. Tour Speight’s Brewery to learn all about beer, enjoy tastings and shop for beer gear. There are several engaging art galleries in the Octagon neighborhood, located in the city’s center, and also known for bars and cafés. Explore the Blue Oyster Gallery and look for experimental exhibitions, search for bespoke jewelry at Chris Idour, old masters at Dunedin Public Art Gallery, heritage at Reed Gallery and unique New Zealand artists at the De Novo and Milford galleries. Another option is to head inland, to the charming gingerbread Dunedin Railway station, and board the Taieri Gorge Railway for a four hour journey past former gold-mining sites, or venture out to Otago Peninsula and visit the 19th-century Larnach Castle. Perched on a hill that overlooks the harbor, this is New Zealand’s only castle. Hear stories of scandal, tragedy, and intrigue—all part of its lavish history.
Dusky Sound, Doubtful Sound, Milford Sound
Dusky Sound is the largest and most complex of the many fjords along the New Zealand Coast. It is surrounded by steep cliffs that have been carved, over centuries, by dozens of waterfalls and it is also a wildlife paradise. Look out for seals and dolphins, patrolling the water, and birds like the broad billed prions, mottled petrels and sooty shearwaters floating on the overhead thermals.
Doubtful Sound features cold mountain water cascading from the cliffs, above, and creating a dual-layered marine ecosystem of fresh and saltwater. The unusual phenomenon serves as a playground for a number of species, including fur seals and two types of penguins; the fiordland crested and blue penguin.
As we sail into the narrow fjords of the Milford Sound, our massive ship seems to shrink in size when you look at the towering cliffs all around you, topped by the lush mountain terrain. Within Fiordland National Park, this natural wonder is part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Site and is protected by its natural geography, which makes it a haven for all types of wildlife.
Newcastle, Australia
Newcastle is named for England’s famed coal port and was developed in the 19th century by dangerous convicts sent to work the coal mines and timber forests. Find stunning surf and a relaxed urban atmosphere in Newcastle, which is also a gateway to Australia’s wine country. Visit Customs House, a restaurant and bar; Watt Street, lined with buildings from the convict era; and Christ Church Cathedral; which dominates the skyline. All near the port, learn 200 years of local history by visiting these destinations and learn more about the local culture by visiting the Newcastle Museum. Located in the central business district, it’s collections include Fire and Earth, about the industrial era; Link Gallery, a large exhibit of an 1870 locomotive and an 1890 pipe organ; and Newcastle Story, to explore Aboriginal life and the pioneers of Newcastle. Head to the 19th century Fort Scratchley to learn about intriguing military history, or relax on the sunny beaches, famous for surfing, and take in the breathtaking views of the Pacific. Our animal lovers have the opportunity to meet rare, local animals like koalas, wombats, diamond pythons and blue-tongued lizards by visiting Blackbutt Reserve. The 450 acres of natural bushland, nature trails and wildlife exhibits are a once in a lifetime opportunity. Explore inland Hunter Valley, one of Australia’s pioneering wine regions, and taste Hunter Valley Sémillion, the iconic wine of the region. Here, wines are also produced from Syrah, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon Grapes. After a few tours, take a break with a drink and a delicious meal in one of the many hip bars, cafés or restaurants in the city centre.

Absolutely. In order to take advantage of our offer, you must be paid in full by August 23, 2019. Of course, single cabins are available at an additional rate assessed by Celebrity Cruise Line. Even after the cut-off date, we get so many calls that finding a roommate is easy. So please let us know if you are interested when making your booking.
Our guarantee is based on the lowest, inside cabin share rate. If you opt for a higher category and we are unable to match in that category, you are responsible for the difference to move a member into your cabin to make a match. You may also opt to take your own cabin at that time for the single cabin rate. Assessments are made at final payment date, 122 days prior to departure.
Roommate matches are based on the same sex, general age range and smoking preference whenever possible, but not guaranteed. STI reserves the right to make any match up until day of cruising, including roommate changes once onboard for members who select the Share & Save option.
We highly recommend that our guests contact their roommates in advance. Booked members have access to our private online chat. Meet your roommate as well as the other members on your vacation. Singles Travel International makes every effort to accommodate requests, but does not guarantee the satisfaction or success of a roommate match. It’s the responsibility of the guest to contact his/her roommate and ask the appropriate questions.
Optional pre and post cruise/tour stays are not eligible for the guarantee. Chances are excellent that we’ll find you a match, but if no match found by 30 days prior to departure, member pays the single supplement.
Read more about Roommate Matching on our Frequently Asked Questions found at the Help Center.
STI offers a fun filled pre cruise package in Sydney, which allows our members to get a head start socializing and increases the odds that you won’t miss the boat! See the Price & Options Tab for details and to make your reservation. If not taking our package, we’ll meet you onboard the ship and meeting details will be available on the YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS button on the left navigation bar on the trip site, 21 days prior to trip start date.
Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by STI. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays. Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate.
Radissson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney

Note that guests must make the reservation with STI in order to participate in group activities in Sydney. Bookings made directly with the hotel do not qualify.
Optional pre and post cruise/tour stays are not eligible for the guarantee. Chances are excellent that we’ll find you a match, but if no match found by 30 days prior to departure, member pays the single supplement.
We would be happy to arrange transportation for you, to and from the ship, at an additional rate of $39, each way (subject to increase at any time before final payment is made).
Taxis between the airport and the cruise terminal will cost approximately $40-$45. All taxis run on a meter and most accept major international credit cards.
Arriving early to do one of our Pre Cruise Sydney packages? A taxi is approximately $35-$40, from the airport to the hotel, and we recommend that you post a message on the “Share A Ride” topic on our chat. Include your airline, flight number, date and arrival time and you may find another member willing to share. Click here if you prefer to book on the shuttle.
Embarkation and cabin check-in is at 12:00 p.m. Plan to arrive early in order to take advantage of getting to know the ship and check in with Singles Travel International Concierge.
Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every cruise sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. In 25 years, we have perfected the singles cruise experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day. From the moment you board the ship, our STI Concierge Team is waiting to meet you at our Welcome Aboard Get Together. Our first evening begins with a private, welcome aboard cocktail party followed by daily activities both onboard the ship as well as in each port. We dine together each evening in an open seating arrangement so that you have a chance to meet as many people as possible.
Our “Baby Boomer” vacations cater to singles in their 50s and 60s but you will often meet singles ranging anywhere from 45-75. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. As a travel club, matchmaking is not our focus. Ages listed on our page are not restricted. They are simply used as a guideline. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee ratios or ages.
We recommend that you meet the members of the STI Community online where you may view and interact with members via “Who’s Going” on every trip page. This is the best way to find out exactly who will be on your vacation.
All meals are served either buffet style in a restaurant located on an open deck such as the pool deck or full service in the main dining room at set times referred to as early and late (or first and second) seating. Singles Travel International hosts the Breakfast Club each morning in one of the 2 locations, which are determined via your STI Travel Director/Concierge once onboard and advised to you each day via our Weekly STI Program. We reserve late (second) seating for the entire group for dinner and use a round robin seating plan. Guests are assigned a place for the first night and then may sit with whomever they’d like, at any one of our group tables, for the balance of the cruise. Late (second) dining is generally served at 8:30 p.m. and varies by cruise line. If you desire to dine at early (first) seating, please let our reservation specialist know at the time of booking. Note that on most cruises, the majority of our guests choose late (second) seating and by selecting early (first) seating, you may be dining with a smaller group of our guests or perhaps none at all. All dining requests are confirmed once onboard, not in advance and are at the discretion of the cruise line.
In addition, there are generally several ala carte, themed restaurants with and without a fee. Singles Travel International will take reservation requests for tables of 8 during our Welcome Aboard meeting. You may sign up for those options, and therefore enjoy these restaurants in the company of other singles, once onboard the ship.
If you would like to dine early, please make your request at time of reservation. Note that we will accommodate your request but the majority of our members dine at second seating.
Yes, there are hairdryers in each cabin. Electrical current is 110, which is the US standard. If sharing a cabin, we recommend bringing along a power strip so that you both may recharge phones, cameras and add additional items such as a curling iron.
It’s summer time in the southern hemisphere! Expect daytime temperatures to be in the Mid 70s during the day and evenings average low to mid 70s.
Australia, and New Zealand, have brilliant subtropical weather all year round, with hot, sunny summers and mild winters. Due to its location in the southern hemisphere, the seasons are reversed Australia and New Zealand. December is the beginning of summer, so the weather is warm and sunny.
In December, the average daytime temperatures stay around the 23°C (73 F) mark. The average minimum temperature rarely ever drops below 19°C (66 F) which means that night times are still warm. December and January are an ideal time to visit.
A passport is required for all travelers to Australia & New Zealand. Be sure to confirm that your passport is current and will be valid at least six months after your departure. If you do not have one or need a new one, contact the State Department Passport Office in your area immediately or US guests may visit here.
A visa is also required for entry into Australia, as well as New Zealand. STI has NOT included the visa cost in your cruise package. US Citizens should Click Here to apply for your e-visa, for Australia. To complete the application, for an ETA, you will need your valid passport, email address and a credit card.
For New Zealand, passengers must have a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) and pay an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). This must be done before traveling to New Zealand. Members should visit the website of the Government of New Zealand for details and for the application arrangement.
If you have dual citizenship, please email us at service@singlestravelintl.com to advise immediately for proper issuance.
We recommend that you also make copies of your passport, visa, driver’s license, photo identification card and/or birth certificate in case of loss, and carry them with you on your trip separate from your original documents.
Non US Citizens are responsible for verifying their own required documentation for this tour.
There is no baggage limit onboard ship.
Currently, most airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing up to 50 pounds, for a fee. In addition you may carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage.
We are visiting New Zealand and Australia during their summer. We anticipate that the lowest temps will be in the mid to upper 70s but may reach high 80s, after all, it’s mother nature!
As always, for traveling, we recommend that you pack layers with 3 main colors and accessories. Start with pants and shorts and a few t-shirts, add a light sweater or sweat shirt and then a water/wind proof jacket with a hood, just in case. Comfortable walking shoes are a must with extra socks in case you get wet. Following these basic guidelines will get you through any of your days in New Zealand.
NEW:
Formal Night gets a modern luxury reboot. Say goodbye to Formal Night, and hello to Evening Chic. It’s your time to shine—your way. Get glamorous. Get chic. Be sophisticated. Now, on up to two nights on every cruise, Evening Chic activities have been introduced, and Evening Chic attire has replaced Formal attire. While dressier than Smart Casual, Evening Chic is intended to be less dressy than Formal attire.
Women should feel comfortable wearing:
• A cocktail dress
• Skirt, pants or designer jeans with an elegant top
Men should feel comfortable wearing:
• Pants or designer jeans with a dress shirt, button-down shirt or sweater
• Optional sport coat or blazer
Evening Chic means that you may get glamorous and be sophisticated in your own way. If you would like to still wear a tuxedo or formal gown on Evening Chic nights, you absolutely should.
Any cruise 7-nights or more will feature two (2) Evening Chic nights. All other nights of the cruise will feature Smart Casual attire.
Smart Casual attire may be enjoyed every other night of your cruise.
Women should feel comfortable wearing:
• Skirt, pants or jeans with a casual top
Men should feel comfortable wearing:
• Pants or jeans with a sport shirt that has sleeves
Note: T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurant at any time. Shorts and flip-flops are not allowed in the evening hours. The dress code will be enforced at all restaurants. And guests are asked to follow the Smart Casual or Evening Chic dress code in the Celebrity Theater for all evening performances. The daily program, delivered to your stateroom and available at the Guest Relations Desk, will be your guide to the correct attire each evening.
Our Concierge Team will create several theme nights and costumes are recommended, although optional. More information about themes will be disclosed closer to departure via our chat and direct emails from our Concierge Team.
Packing Tips: Take only what you need; don’t over pack. Save room for souvenirs and purchases. Pack flat and full to avoid wrinkling. Bring wardrobe basics; mix and match around one or two colors. Don’t pack anything valuable, fragile or perishable. Label your luggage with an outside tag, and place an identification card inside each suitcase.
Essential Items: We highly recommend that you bring the following items.
– A good, comfortable pair of broken-in walking shoes.
– A pair of shoes for restaurants (loafers, sandals, etc).
– Ladies will want to bring a nicer warm wrap and gentlemen a nicer jacket, for evening wear. Evenings aboard the ship are sometimes cool due to the air conditioning, so a cover up is essential if you tend to get cold easily.
– Sunglasses, sun block, sun hat or visor.
– Insulated Coffee-To-Go cup for more java to enjoy poolside.
– Toiletries: all your daily essentials.
– Power strip for all your gadgets – most cabins have only one outlet.
– Prescription medications: sufficient supply for the entire trip plus legible written prescription in case of loss. Keep medications in their original, labeled container. Always pack your medications in your carry-on bag!
– Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution. You may want to bring along a written prescription for your eyewear in case of loss.
– Over the counter medications: cold remedy, aspirin/pain reliever, antacid/stomach upset remedy, Band-Aids, Neosporin or other anti-bacterial medication.
– Travel alarm clock with illuminated face, especially for guests in an inside cabin.
– Small, Swiss Army type utility knife. Remember to pack this in your checked luggage!
– Travel journal/notepad and reading material.
– Home address book (iphone/smart phone) for sending postcards. A useful tip to avoid bringing your entire address book is to pre-write names and addresses of people to whom you want to send postcards on sheets of self-adhesive labels. It saves time and space in your luggage.
– Small, basic sewing kit with a few extra buttons. Remember to pack scissors in your checked bag!
– Photography Equipment: Bring a sufficient supply of film and extra batteries. If you are bringing a digital camera, you should bring extra memory chips.
