Over 60,000 acres and situated in the beautiful Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, Shamwari Private Game Reserve is internationally renowned for its spectacular array of wildlife. The various ecosystems feature diverse vegetation, which provides the ideal habitat for a range of wildlife, including the infamous Big Five. It is known for its picturesque African vistas, abundant wildlife and offers world-class safari experiences.
Day 1 – January 25, 2021
Enjoy breakfast on the ship before we meet our tour guide and embark on our journey to Shamwari. Once we arrive at our 5-star, luxury lodge, we will check out our beautiful tents, where we will stay and be completely immersed in our gorgeous surroundings for the next 3 days. Then, we will meet back with our guide for an orientation and lunch. Our adventure begins this evening, after tea, with our first game drive! As our guide takes us out on safari, we will watch for the big 5 as our hearts pound with excitement. We return to the lodge for pre-dinner drinks and dinner before retiring to our rooms for some much needed rest.
Day 2 – January 26, 2021
After an early morning wake up call, followed by a few refreshments, we will head out for our morning game drive. This is a popular time for the animals to be out and about! After another exciting safari adventure, we will indulge in a hot breakfast buffet as we talk, amongst new friends, about all the exhilarating moments of our drive. After breakfast, relax in the private plunge pool or on the private deck of your tent before we gather again for lunch and afternoon tea and set back out on our last evening game drive. We will share pre-dinner drinks and dinner, again, as we close on our spectacular adventure.
Day 3 – January 27, 2021
Today, after another early morning wake up call and refreshments, we enjoy the final morning safari before a long brunch. After we eat, we will pack our bags and return to the Queen Mary 2, at Port Elizabeth Harbor, to continue on our journey around the world.

The cruise departs from Southampton on January 10, 2021 and ends in Southampton on April 19, 2021. Transportation time between the London Airport and Southampton Terminal is about 2 hours so we have included one night, pre cruise, in London. Please schedule your flight to arrive in London (LHR) anytime on January 9 and depart from London (LHR) after 2:00 p.m. on April 19.

Note: Flights from North America must depart on January 9 in order to arrive in London on January 9. Your return flight is the same day, so the actual length of the trip is 101 nights/102 days (first night on airplane and second night in London hotel).

A deposit is due at time of reservation. Refer to the Price and Options tab for the amount. Final payment is due in our office by August 3, 2020. A reminder will be emailed to you 14 days prior to due date and you may choose to pay your remaining balance, via PayPal, or contact our accounting department at 877-765-6874 option 4, with your payment details, to secure your reservation. If you make a reservation after August 3, 2020 full payment will be automatically charged at time of reservation and penalties will apply. Note that on occasion, charges are processed after the final due date, so there is no need to be concerned if you do not see the charges on that day.

Yes. All cancellations must be made in writing to Singles Travel International and are subject to per person penalties as follows (allow 7 business days for processing):

– After deposit and at anytime of cancellation, a minimum charge of $500 plus credit card charges will apply in addition to other penalties listed below.

– Between August 3, 2020 and September 4, 2020 – 20% penalty applies.

– Between September 5 and November 2, 2020 – 50% penalty applies.

– After November 3, 2020 any cancellations or “no-shows”  100% penalty.

Note that if you elect to take a roommate and he/she cancels after our cut off date, we will do everything to find a new match. However, if no match is found, the difference in cost for a single cabin/room is the responsibility of the guest who cancels. No refund will be given to the guest who cancels, regardless of cruise or tour company policy as stated above. Singles Travel International is not responsible for costs related to cancellations after our cut off date, August 3, 2020.

Cancellations made prior to final payment may transfer deposit to a future vacation. A $25 transfer fee applies and new selection must be made within 30 days.

In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as land/cruise only. Therefore, airfare is additional. Singles Travel International is a licensed ticketing agency and oftentimes has low negotiated fares.

If you plan to arrange your own flights, please arrive in London (LHR) anytime on January 9 and depart from London (LHR) after 2:00 p.m. on April 19.

Please contact your preferred carrier directly to make your reservation. If Singles Travel International issues a promotional economy fare, granting of frequent flyer credit is entirely at the airline’s discretion. If the flights are eligible, to ensure you earn frequent flyer credit from the airline, give your frequent flyer account number when you check in for your flights. In addition, save your boarding passes and the passenger receipt from your airline ticket. You may need to submit these to the airline (not to Singles Travel International) to claim any credit allowed.

You are responsible for beverages (except when included in accommodations events), shore tours, casino gambling and shopping.   Cabin incidentals such as laundry, phone calls and internet access are also at an additional cost and all items will appear on your final billing statement at the end of the cruise. You may also be charged a delivery fee, imposed by our vendors for special delivery of documents including international and expedited documents within 21 days of departure.

Absolutely. In order to take advantage of our offer, you must be paid in full by August 3, 2020. Of course, single cabins are available at an additional rate assessed by Cunard. Even after the cut-off date, we get so many calls that finding a roommate is easy. So please let us know if you are interested when making your booking.

Our guarantee is based on the lowest, inside cabin share rate. If you opt for a higher category and we are unable to match in that category, you are responsible for the difference to move a member into your cabin to make a match. You may also opt to take your own cabin at that time for the single cabin rate. Assessments for this voyage will be made on March 31, 2020.

Roommate matches are based on the same sex, general age range and smoking preference whenever possible, but not guaranteed. STI reserves the right to make any match up until day of cruising, including roommate changes once onboard for members who select the Share & Save option.

We highly recommend that our guests contact their roommates in advance. Booked members have access to our private online chat. Meet your roommate as well as the other members on your vacation. Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. A taxi is approximately $60-$80, from the airport to the hotel. Taxis between the cruise terminal and the airport will cost approximately $115-125. All taxis run on a meter and most accept major international credit cards. We recommend that you post a message on the “Share A Ride” topic on our chat. Include your airline, flight number, date and arrival time and you may find another member willing to share. Embarkation and cabin check-in is at 12:00 p.m. Plan to arrive early in order to take advantage of getting to know the ship and check in with Singles Travel International Concierge.

We want you to start enjoying your holiday as soon as possible, and for embarkation to be effortless. Therefore, Singles Travel International has included a complimentary stay in London the day before we depart.  We will escort our members via private coach to the ship and boarding instructions will be provided along the way.

The terminal porters will deliver your luggage to your stateroom so please ensure you have attached a Cunard luggage label to each item. We will provide instructions about how to acquire your tags prior to departure. Personalized luggage labels are also recommended but not essential. Your passport and any valuables or medication should be kept in your possession.

Check-in and boarding
Our check-in desks are inside the terminal. Once there you’ll need to:
• Present your E-Ticket
• Present your passport/ID card for identification
• Have your photograph taken
• Register a credit card for on board purchases
• Authorize card via chip and pin device
• Make a Public Health declaration

Upon completion, you’ll receive your voyage card. This is needed to board the ship, open your stateroom door, purchase items on board and disembarking/embarking in your ports of call. Please keep it safe.

If you have purchased a Cunard ship-to-airport transfer, a Land and Sea Holiday or are participating in the Hotel Program, you will be directed by Cunard representatives to the transfer departure point.

The full cruise is 99 nights, which includes 60 days at sea.

The QM2 was designed specifically for ocean crossing, which means she is well prepared for larger waves and rough weather. She is very stable and considered the safest ocean vessel at sea.

We recommend talking to your doctor and letting them know of your plans to take an extended vacation and the dates you will be gone. They should be able to accommodate you by adding extra days to your prescriptions. It is best to come prepared with your medications, however, rest assured there is a pharmacy on board as well, should additional needs arise. We highly recommend purchasing traveler’s insurance.

United Arab Emirates & Japanese Banned Medication

We would like to inform you that some prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, complimentary therapies and other medicines may be illegal in the United Arab Emirates and are therefore banned in Dubai. Codeine, for example, is banned and no products containing codeine, which may include paracetomol, may be imported or sold in the country. Penalties can be severe if banned substances are found when entering this country. If you are taking any medication and are in doubt then please contact the United Arab Emirates Embassy medical department prior to your departure. In the US, contact the Washington, D.C. Embassy at (202) 243-2400 and in Canada, contact the Ottawa Embassy at (613) 565-7272. It is also essential to carry a prescription for any medication as well as a medical report if you are travelling with syringes or other medical equipment. We strongly advise you to seek advice if any of the above affects you.

Cunard is packed with onboard activities and we will receive a daily schedule, listing up to 50-60 activities available each day. The ship is complete with a Ballroom and full orchestra, professional dance instructors, planetarium at sea, illuminations to learn technology, photography and writing skills, as well as the largest library at sea. QM2 also offers a theatre program for those who want the chance to be on stage! For the world cruise, there will also be professional actors, authors and world-renowned speakers onboard. Our concierge team has special talents they want to teach you! Learn to speak Spanish or French, join us for a Latin dance lesson, learn about sailing and seamanship, learn how to read the stars and constellations, learn to play guitar or piano or just chill out on a deck chair and read a book.

Internet is widely available 24/7 onboard. There are different packages available, at varying cost, for hourly, daily, weekly or even unlimited usage. Please contact our team, regarding your needs, and we would be happy to assist you in choosing the best option.

Our STI concierge team will be there with you from morning until night. They will coordinate daily Breakfast Club, dancing, dinners, exclusive shore excursions, cooking classes, wine tastings, etc. They are also excited to teach you some of their own talents! How would you like to learn a new language or how to play an instrument? Are you interested in reading the stars and learning about the different constellations? Our STI team strives to enhance your experience beyond just traveling to new destinations.

STI is currently working on creating our own, exclusive land excursions in several ports and will make them available as each is carefully crafted. All excursions will be available by January 2020, 12 months prior to departure.

Yes! Whether you have been before, or are a first-timer, there will be options available for anyone to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef. Optional excursions will be available for purchase prior to departure or once onboard.

Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every cruise sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. In 25 years, we have perfected the singles cruise experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day. From the moment you board the ship, our STI Concierge Team is waiting to meet you at our Welcome Aboard Get Together. Our first evening begins with a private, welcome aboard cocktail party followed by daily activities both onboard the ship as well as in each port. We dine together each evening in an open seating arrangement so that you have a chance to meet as many people as possible.

Our “Baby Boomer” vacations cater to singles in their 50s and 60s but you will often meet singles ranging anywhere from 45-75. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. As a travel club, matchmaking is not our focus. Ages listed on our page are not restricted. They are simply used as a guideline. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee ratios or ages.

We recommend that you meet the members of the STI Community online where you may view and interact with members via “Who’s Going” on every trip page. This is the best way to find out exactly who will be on your vacation.

All meals are served either buffet style in a restaurant located on an open deck such as the pool deck or full service in the Brittania dining room at set times referred to as early and late (or first and second) seating. Singles Travel International hosts the Breakfast Club each morning in one of the 2 locations, which are determined via your STI Travel Director/Concierge once onboard and advised to you each day via our Weekly STI Program. We reserve late (second) seating for the entire group for dinner and use a round robin seating plan. Guests are assigned a place for the first night and then may sit with whomever they’d like, at any one of our group tables, for the balance of the cruise. Late (second) dining is generally served at 8:30 p.m. and varies by cruise line. If you desire to dine at early (first) seating, please let our reservation specialist know at the time of booking. Note that on most cruises, the majority of our guests choose late (second) seating and by selecting early (first) seating, you may be dining with a smaller group of our guests or perhaps none at all.

Princess Suite members have the privileged access to the Princess Grill and may choose to dine there or with our group at any time in the Britannia Restaurant.  Note that Cunard does not allow non Princess Grill guests to join and therefore, our non Princess Suite members will not have access.

All dining requests are confirmed once on board, not in advance and are at the discretion of the cruise line.

If you would like to dine early, please make your request at time of reservation. Note that we will accommodate your request but the majority of our members dine at second seating.

Yes. The staff aboard the QM2 is prepared to accommodate most dietary restrictions and needs. Add your requirements to the dietary restriction field when you make your reservation with Singles Travel International. All requests must be submitted no later than 6 weeks prior to departure.

While every effort is made by Cunard to ensure that special dietary requests are met, they cannot be guaranteed.

Queen Mary is about luxury and old-world cruising and we look forward to celebrating with our members. Please review the dress suggestions from Cunard and let us know if you have any questions. That being said, nothing is mandatory and there is always the option of dining in one of the 3 informal restaurants on the ship. Please check the Weather FAQ for more information regarding style of clothing.

Yes, there are hairdryers in each cabin. Electrical current is 110, which is the US standard. If sharing a cabin, we recommend bringing along a power strip so that you both may recharge phones, cameras and add additional items such as a curling iron.

As our cruise falls during tax season, we recommend filing early or applying for an extension. Please speak with your accountant for further information and recommendations.

A passport is required for cruise travel around the World. Be sure to confirm that your passport is current and will be valid at least six months after your departure. If you do not have one or need a new one, contact the State Department Passport Office in your area immediately or visit their website.

Non US citizens are responsible for contacting all countries on our itinerary to secure appropriate documentation in advance.

Most visas will be handled onboard through STI or Cunard. We will start the process 6 months before departure. You will also be signed up on Cunard’s app and have a cruise personalizer that will send messages starting 6 months before departure to help you prepare.  This will include specific instructions on how to navigate the website and obtain proper documentation.

Sri Lanka

For cruise travel only, you are required to obtain a Transit ETA online (www.eta.gov.lk). A Transit ETA is free of charge. Please note, the Transit ETA confirmation states that you may only transit and are not permitted to enter Sri Lanka. This is acceptable for cruise lines as you are classed as ‘in transit’ providing you enter and leave Sri Lanka with the ship. This will not restrict you in going ashore during the call.

When completing your application, please note the following:

  • “Port of Departure” is the previous port you are scheduled to visit prior to arrival in Sri Lanka
  • “Final Destination” is the port where you will be ending your cruise
  • “Vessel Number” is the cruise number
  • “Address in Sri Lanka” is the ship name


The government of Australia requires all non-Australian and non-New Zealand passport holders to obtain an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) to visit or transit Australia. Please visit https://www.eta.immi.gov.au/ETA/etas.jsp to process and pay for the visa online. This visa must be obtained in advance of your voyage and applies regardless if you choose to remain on board or go ashore.


A visa for Vietnam will be issued upon arrival in Vietnam for all guests and therefore you are not required to obtain a Vietnam visa in advance of the voyage. A visa fee of approximately USD $31.00 per person ($45 per person for those participating on an overland package) will be charged to your stateroom account. A passport-size photo (or copy of your passport photo page) is required.

Please note that your passport must contain at least one unused page for entry/departure endorsements for Vietnam, and ensure that these unused pages are “visa” pages and not “amendment “ pages in your passport.

United Arab Emirates

A visa will be issued upon arrival in UAE for all members. Therefore, you are not required to obtain a visa in advance of your voyage.


A “Quick Stamp” visa will be issued upon arrival in Egypt for all guests* and therefore, you are not required to obtain a visa in advance of your voyage. There is currently no charge for this service. Visa fees are subject to change.


A visa will be issued upon arrival in Jordan for all guests. Therefore, you are not required to obtain a visa in advance of your voyage. There is currently no charge for this service. Visa fees are subject to change.


South Africa

All guests’ passports MUST be valid for six months after the completion of travel and contain two blank pages for entry/exit endorsements.

U.S. and Canadian passport holders do not require a visa for this voyage. Non-U.S. and non-Canadian passport holders must verify their visa requirements.




Non US Citizens are responsible for verifying their own required documentation for this tour.


Guests are strongly recommended to visit their healthcare provider to discuss their personal itinerary. Please take a copy of your itinerary with you, including pre- or post-voyage travel, so a full risk assessment can be made and the appropriate prevention advice given.

There is no baggage limit onboard ship.

Currently, most airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing up to 50 pounds, for a fee. In addition you may carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage.

Yes. When visiting the United Arab of Emirates countries, we will need to abide by their dress requirements, especially if visiting the mosque in Dubai.

There is a modest dress code for the Mosque, a place of prayer and where Islamic values are to be respected. Heed the following during your visit.

* Women should have scarves covering their hair, a long dress and long sleeve top, not low in neckline, transparent or clingy or wear a shaila and abaya which will cover you fully. Rentals are available on site.

* Men should not wear shorts at all. Long pants and shirts are acceptable.

* Do not smoke.

* Never enter a mosque in shoes. Remove shoes and leave them in a safe place if provided, if not put in a tie bag and keep at your side.

* Do not eat or drink

* Do not take photos of people without their permission. It is not allowed.

* Men are not allowed in areas of the women’s section where women pray.

* Do not walk in front of people praying.

* Silence your cell phone.

*Do not talk loudly.

Our Concierge Team will create several theme nights and costumes are recommended, although optional. More information about themes will be disclosed closer to departure via our chat and direct emails from our Concierge Team.

Packing Tips: Take only what you need; don’t over pack. Save room for souvenirs and purchases. Pack flat and full to avoid wrinkling. Bring wardrobe basics; mix and match around one or two colors. Don’t pack anything valuable, fragile or perishable. Label your luggage with an outside tag, and place an identification card inside each suitcase.

Essential Items: We highly recommend that you bring the following items.

– A good, comfortable pair of broken-in walking shoes.
– A pair of shoes for restaurants (loafers, sandals, etc).
– Ladies will want to bring a nicer warm wrap and gentlemen a nicer jacket, for evening wear. Evenings aboard the ship are sometimes cool due to the air conditioning, so a cover up is essential if you tend to get cold easily.
– Sunglasses, sun block, sun hat or visor.
– Insulated Coffee-To-Go cup for more java to enjoy poolside.
– Toiletries: all your daily essentials.
– Power strip for all your gadgets – most cabins have only one outlet.
– Prescription medications: sufficient supply for the entire trip plus legible written prescription in case of loss. Keep medications in their original, labeled container. Always pack your medications in your carry-on bag!
– Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution. You may want to bring along a written prescription for your eyewear in case of loss.
– Over the counter medications: cold remedy, aspirin/pain reliever, antacid/stomach upset remedy, Band-Aids, Neosporin or other anti-bacterial medication.
– Travel alarm clock with illuminated face, especially for guests in an inside cabin.
– Small, Swiss Army type utility knife. Remember to pack this in your checked luggage!
– Travel journal/notepad and reading material.
– Home address book (iphone/smart phone) for sending postcards. A useful tip to avoid bringing your entire address book is to pre-write names and addresses of people to whom you want to send postcards on sheets of self-adhesive labels. It saves time and space in your luggage.
– Small, basic sewing kit with a few extra buttons. Remember to pack scissors in your checked bag!
– Photography Equipment: Bring a sufficient supply of film and extra batteries. If you are bringing a digital camera, you should bring extra memory chips.


Yes! QM2 has laundry facilities for guests to use, as well as offered laundry service so you do not have to worry about overpacking.

YES! There are 10 hosts aboard the world cruise, available to dance with our members every evening.

Travel Insurance is available through Travel Guard and in addition to direct access immediately upon completing your purchase, you will receive a quote from Travel Guard regarding travel insurance after reserving your vacation.  If you have any questions, Travel Guard professional, expert agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.   Call us, if you have not received your quote within 3 days.

QM2 is equipped with medical professionals and equipment, in case of incident, however, if the need surpasses what is available on board, there are protocols set up to get you off the ship and to a hospital for further care. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover the high cost of emergency situations.

As we are visiting many different countries, during this unique voyage, we would recommend doing any currency exchanges onboard. Your credit card will be accepted to settle your bill onboard the ship, as well as in major shops and restaurants ashore. All onboard purchases are billed with a guest check and added to your personal shipboard account. At the end of the cruise, you will receive a total bill, which can be paid with cash or charged to a credit card. If you are sharing with another guest, no worries. You will each receive a separate statement, which may be reviewed at any time on your interactive TV in the cabin.

Your “Final Vacation Details & Meetup Information” including transportation and how to meet up with the group will be available on the YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS button on the left navigation bar on the trip site, 21 days prior to trip start date.

Yes but, unfortunately, pets are not allowed during the world cruise.

All countries you will visit have laws against the purchase and export of certain items, including antiquities, national cultural property and certain animal products, especially endangered species (ivory, rhino horn, tortoise shell, coral, feathers, etc.). Additionally, the United States has laws prohibiting the import of certain items, which include many of the same things. You face having your purchase confiscated and/or heavy fines for exporting or importing prohibited items.

On return to the U.S., your baggage is subject to search by U.S. Customs. Currently, you are permitted to bring back $800 of goods duty free. Persons aged 21 or over may also bring in one liter of liquor and one carton of cigarettes. If you plan to purchase a lot of souvenirs or expensive items, it is important to retain all purchase receipts. However, please note that U.S. Customs may not accept a receipt as true cost if it seems unusually low for the estimated value of the item.
