Holiday Gift Ideas for Single Travelers of all ages
February 29 2008
Tis the season to strain our brain trying to think of the ideal gift. Travel gifts are perfect everyone loves to travel; yet many people sit homebound for lack of a travel companion. That is rapidly changing. Solo travel is a fast-growing trend, as there are over 87 million adult singles in North America. Some 40% of adult Americans are single by choice, divorced or widowed. People of all ages are more independent than ever and reluctant to compromise their vacation plans or, worse yet, stay home. Solo travel is actually more rewarding than going with a companion. You meet people more easily, learn more about the culture youre visiting, and have total freedom to create the trip of your dreams. I've traveled solo all over the world since my divorce 14 years ago. At first, it was a scary choice; now, its my first choice. I gain more confidence with each trip I take. Traveling alone has restored my faith in humanity. People everywhere are kind and ready to help whenever Im lost or confused. Encourage the single traveler to stretch his or her wings with one of these terrific gift suggestions, and tuck in a copy of Travel Alone & Love It, chockfull of tips they need to see the world safely, economically and with the travel savvy of a pro.
